Things you would love to say to your fellow nursing students!

Published

Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.

Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle

When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)

Stop saying you're broke, and you are getting free drinks from guys you not even know. What a freaking b. Get a job.

I am so glad I never half to see most of you again after the pinning ceremony next week!

I am so glad I don't have to deal with you chatting with each other over the instructor who is in the middle of lecture! And then tell other people to shut up when they ask a question. Seriously....why don't you shut the **** up!

I am so glad that I don't have to listen to you and ALL of your "knowledge" which you must just gain in your sleep because apparantly you don't study at all. You must be a born again Florence Nightengale.

To one particular girl: How are you going to try and take advantage of people when you are working. Why don't you do your own stuff and stop using people?

To those of you who were actually decent people, we will keep in touch and you will make amazing RNs.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, toss those leggings on a bonfire!

I have no problem sharing my grades when asked.....actually see my post 4 down 1 to go..... :D I am not ashamed if I only make a C or B!

And I understand wanting your family to see your grades....my entire family is 900 miles away, so I have to update them too......

There is one specific person in my class who has to scream her grades out, immediately post them to FB and talk about how "lucky and blessed" she is....I would greatly appreciate someone who had the courtesy that you do!

I'm just curious, why not block the person from FB or their statuses. Perhaps she does feel lucky and blessed and is excited to share, maybe she does it just to **** people off but you have the ability to control what you see on FB.

Just because you worked in the or, er, dialysis unit, icu, etc... does not mean you're qualified to teach the class or throw FYIs in during lecture. Shut up. We have a limited time for lecture and I want to get through all the content and not listen to your story about the one time the jehovah's witness refused a blood transfussion for his kid.

We're all really sick of hearing about your weekend travels to visit all your sugar daddies in various states. We call you a word that starts with a W and ends with HORE. Having sex with big nasty in exchange for a boob job? Doing the nasty with another guy for your car payment? Yeah...

Just a heads up, everyone is catching on to your lying. Starting rumors about nearly everyone in the class? Yeah, we're onto you. That one classmate, you know the one, she's gotten wind of the things you're saying about her and frankly, she's so mad it's pretty scary. I'd watch my back because your rent-a-cop daddy isn't always going to be around.

Wow, thats crazy how much that sounds like High School. :grn:

That's exactly what we've been saying. This girl pawns herself off as a sweet little darling and she has many people fooled but those of us who are with her day in and day out have seen her true colors. One of our classmates got booted out of clinical over something ridiculous and while everyone else was sympathetic to her tears, this girl couldn't conceal her glee with the other girl's misfortune.

Lately, she's spreading rumors about everyone, including one girl who is apt to do something crazy.

Jesus, why do girls have to create SO MUCH DRAMA when they work together in groups. Its tiring. She said this about her, and she said that, and she did that but she really acts like this, and no one likes her, ect ect ect. Who cares what rumors shes spreading? Are they true? Ignore her. Who cares what she pawns herself off as, thats her business and her life, whats that got to do with you, your grades and what you need to do to pass the class? Ignore her. She's a jerk, but you know what, you are going to run into a whole lot of those in the course of your career.

Ignore her, ignore the rumors, dont join in on conversations discussing how terrible she is and how no one can stand her. Worry about you, your grades and becoming the best nurse you can be. If your tired of the High School BS, then be above it and disassociate yourself from the BS.

1) I am with the noisy kids in the back. (embarassed) But I have to say, do not give us dirty looks and 'shhh' when we whisper. Then turn around and chat your friends up and giggle as loudly as possible. At least we sit in the back of the class and talk quietly while you guys are chatting it up in the middle. Hypocrites.

2) unrelated stories and questions. Especially when you occupy my lab teacher's time when I have valid questions. If you have questions about your hyperthyroidism, refer them to your own GP.

3) Really, when I bring my equipment that I paid for to lab, that does not mean you can borrow it and share it with your friends.. Without asking.. Or pick it up when I set it down for literally one second without asking! To the one girl in particular I told you three times in one day to give my stuff back. Next week when I brought that cuff to practice extra in lab before our redemo you did this AGAIN. Do you not learn?

4) I don't like some of you. This is because I know you're two-faced. Mind your own business and stop trying to dig for gossip from me regarding my friends. I will ignore you or blow you off.

5) To the honest hard workers in my class, I am sorry for the times that I forget to whisper or talk excessively. Myself and my one friend are looking to turn a leaf over next semester.

6) Good luck on your exams this week and see you next semester.

Word. Totally agree.

I have a few words for so-called experts, mouth breathers, people who monopolize lecture time with irrelevant discussion...

but some of this stuff sounds really immature!

For people who do want to start a discussion during lecture- here's a good rule of thumb:

If you would not be willing to hang around ten minutes on YOUR time after lecture to talk about your uncles' cholecystectomy, then don't do it during a lecture on antianginals. Simple!
