Things you would love to say to your fellow nursing students!

Published

Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.

Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle

When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)

It doesn't stop when school ends. Working with a bunch of women is difficult. We still have the back-stabbing, talk-trashing, rumor starting wenches in the trenches! Makes me wonder why I got out of factory work...........

Most of the people I've met are great, and the ones I don't think are "great" are probably just a different personality than me...you're bound not to click with everyone.

But I have to say, my pet peeve is when the teacher tells us something and the first words out of peoples' mouths are, "do we have to know this?" !!?!?!?!?!

You are going to be a nurse, aren't you? Well, don't you think that if this is a nursing course, and you are going to be a nurse, you might want to know it? Just because it's not going to be question #74 on the next test doesn't mean it won't be critical to your practice some day. Argh. Okay, that's all.

HA HA! These are hilarious! I would say, "I'm sorry you can't hear me all the way from the back row but if you would stop talking about how many times you and your boyfriend had sex last night, you might have a better chance of hearing me."

AND

"I'm sorry that my being upset about a 90 is upsetting to you because you only got an 80 and it makes you feel bad... but I studied my butt off and I am going to fight for every point possible. I'm in it for me, not for you or anybody else. I want to be successful so go take your whoa is me pitty party somewhere else and cry there."

Oops, wrong thread!

Attention. to. detail. Not only will that help you successfully get through nursing school, it will also prevent you from killing a patient. For the love of God, just try to listen, okay???

We are ALL so sick of hearing you talk about how your wife is a nurse manager and how you "never crack a book". Really. You sound like a very, VERY annoying parrot. Really.

All that butt kissing is rather tired, too.

* i miss having clinical with you girls...it was so much fun and i hope we are together next semester.

*im so glad that i got closer to some of you. You are all truly wonderful people , im so glad we are friends :)

(see i can post positive stuff too hahah:D)

I love this thread. Now I can really get some stuff off my chest.....stop talking during lecture and listen to your instructor. The stupid question you just asked was answered 10 minutes ago while you were flapping your gums. So what if I did better than you on an exam and why are you comparing yourself to me anyway? Just because you have a job and decide at the last minute to do the homework doesn't mean you can cheat off of everyone else. Everyone is stressed out but it doesn't mean you can be a witch with a b. Get over yourself.

Ok now for the good stuff....thank you for all the long hours of study groups and freak out moments. Your my sisters and brothers and I love you. This panic attack is normal, your in nursing school, just breathe. If being a nurse was easy than everyone would do it....hang in there:).

1) Whoever said there was no such thing as a stupid question- well they're retarded. Think before you open your stupid mouth.

2) Complaining and being negative will get you no where in life. Grin and bear it and move on with your life.

3) Wearing flip-flops with scrubs is a no-no. I'd throw you out of the program myself if I could.

4) Nobody gives a rats a$$ what/where you are studying. Quit posting it on our facebook page!

I had a drill sergeant who always told us that he believed there was no such thing as a dumb question, but there were damn sure dumb privates that asked them.....

We all have one goal in mind: we're all trying to get our RN license, not a position in the corner office with surrounding windows and a great view. Nope, just a bunch of newbies trying to get into the nursing world. So please....stop the back stabbing and petty bs. :hlk:It's not a race, don't you think we should encourage each other to do our best? Just because you're good at one thing doesn't mean you'll be good at another. You may very well need me to help you turn that 400 lb patient when we start clinicals. Never undermind people and think you crap don't stink too. It's serious....no, sorry, no it's not that serious!

This is........:dancgrp:(Don't mind the cartoons, my son's obsession has rubbed off)

As much as I love personal stories during class its a distraction and a waste of time! Stop telling us everything and anything on a subject and let the instructor get back to the lecture. I'm not paying you to listen to your stories, I'm paying for an education. Each time you go on and on about something (as interesting as it is, i'm not hating) I just want to get back to what we are doing in class.

I don't need to know what your grades are on a test, and no, you don't need to know mine. What is this??? 2nd grade? I personally remove myself from the "after-exam jibber jabbers" because:

1) I don't want you feeding me wrong information

2) I am more worried about how I did on an exam and do not need extra anxiety about worrying about your grades.

3) I tend to laugh silently at all of you, in a way. Because, the ones that scream the loudest are often the ones that are indeed failing or in need of help. Not the ones who are silent about their progress in school. This isn't always the case, but in my experience it is dead on!

I am not your instructor. It is your responsibility to take notes in class and RETAIN them. I may help you out, but in no way am I taking notes for the both of us. Do it yourself! Same goes with classwork and homework!

Stop gossiping and putting down the instructors and other students. You're only making a fool out of yourself! I treat everyone with respect and expect the same in return. Your opinion of me, as negative or positive it may be, does not influence me in the slightest. I may get along with you but that doesn't always mean I have to like or friend you.

Thanks for letting me VENT. And, yes this is a vent. :argue:
