Things you would love to say to your fellow nursing students!

Published

Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.

Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle

When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)

Please stop looking at me with disgust when I say that psych nursing is all I can see myself doing. Not everyone wants to do med/surg or critical care.

Please don't roll your eyes if I know the answer to a question. I spend on average of five hours a day book reading, flash cards every time I can, and research on my own. It's not because I'm a know it all but rather because I take the idea of intervening in someone's health care very important.

Don't ask me for the lecture I recorded so you could skip class and stay home to study extra for the exam in the next class. I wanted to stay home and study too but started studying for that test a week ago and drug my but in to the first class so I could record the lecture for my self, not so you could have extra study time because you waited till the last minute.

Believe it or not, I don't want to check in after every exam and tell you my grade.

Stop complaing about "the exam was unfair" because you didn't start studying till the night before..

I don't care that you are SNA and student council leaders, or that you tutor and peer lead, and work as a PCT, that doesn't make you better than me and is actually the reason your grades are suffering and you complain that tests are hard...

And yes, please shut up-some of us are trying to actually listen.....

Will you ***please*** stop talking about your lady parts stretching in childbirth. You have never even had a kid yet. Why do you keep bringing this up in psych and peds? OB, I can almost understand. I realize you are scared about it and you plan to have a C-section when you finally get pregnant... but I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT.

Also on the subject of hearing.... please take it down a few dozen decibels, you are really LOUD.

I don't understand why I don't get it?(person)

how much did you study(me)

Well I was up all night(person)

Well, im sorry(me)

What did you get on the exam(person)

wow your smart(person)

No i just study mass ass off 5 days a week or more(Me)

excuses on your part does not constitute a problem on mine. Especially when I offer my time to study with you and you have a million excuses why you cant make it.

Don't jump to conclusions about me. You think I'm "smart," but the fact is that I study 20 hours every week-end, and I am studying all week long. You might think I'm too "into the books" to be good in nursing, but I have seen and experienced more than you know... Just don't make assumptions!

Also, to that teacher who told me that "there's no room for research in nursing," YOU WERE WRONG. DEAD WRONG!

I have said this before to one of my friends but I wish she would stop whining and worrying me to death sometimes. We study together because I know she has a good heart, and this semester she is doing way better than me (I am having a tough time this spring compared to the fall) but she is one of those people (maybe it's cultural) she could get a 90 or better and still pout and moan

I just dont' have the time to sit with her and here all that crap. As long as you are doing a B or better in my program you are passing. For the most part we are all doing very well, but I have told her before, unless you are failing there is no reason to whine about getting less than a 90% unless it is something so low you can't bring it up or don't have any other chances to bring it up

As for the rest of the nursing students I have nothing to say anymore. This semester I decided to just take a step back, relax, and just keep to myself. If I need to vent I will do so to a close friend or a family member. No need to stress myself about anyone or anything else anymore

I hope you know you can't buy a test bank to study from when it's time to take the NCLEX.

If you can not be on your feet for four hours why are you in nursing school?

Oh I came here just for this thread. First person-you're mean, fake, and I don't know why you want to be a nurse when you constantly say you don't like any part of it, don't care, and the worst is the way I see interact with your patients and how you talk about them after. You're childish and I haven't felt like this since high school. Second person- you are one of the sweetest people Ive met. thanks for always helping me and being such a great friend.

For most of the class: quit whining when thigns don't go well, don't blame others for your mistakes-just move on, and please please stop posting your grades constantly on fb when you know everyones on there. It is just rude and not very thoughtful.
