Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.
Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle
When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)
For the last time, NO ONE cares that your wife is a nurse manager. She isn't a very good one from what I've heard. You're probably the worst slacker in our class but you already have a job? I can't imagine how that happened... Stop telling people you are the reason some of our classmates have made it to the end. Stop telling people that you taught the class how to do dosage calculations. NONE of us recall that ever happening.
Stop putting your hands on all the female students. We hate it and your hands are gross. :barf01:
I love this thread! I wanted to post here before but I wanted to at least get my first semester done before hand so I would have some legitimate rants! Obviously some have been said before but still need to get them out there even more.
1) PLEASE, could you be on time to one damn class? You're really sweet and I overall do like you but you being late to just about every class drives me insane! (I'm the type that shows up 15 minutes or so earlier...I HATE being late!
2) To the b**** in my clinical group - I have NO clue what I did to you to make you seemingly hate me so much. You're older than me (I'm just about 30! ) and yet you make snide, whispering comments to another student about me making any sort of comment. Because of your hate, I have to try and rearrange all of my nursing classes for level 2 so I'm not in your clinical group again! I should NOT have to do that...
3) Love ya chickie but PLEASE stop obsessing about this damn culture project! It's worth a mere 9 points and we have already spent 10+ hours on it when we could be studying more for the 120 point ATI test coming up. Stop asking to change every little thing on the Powerpoint!
I'm sure I have more but those are what I needed to get out. For those in my class that will be moving on to level 2 with me, we did it and let's continue to see it through!!
I don't technically start nursing school until the fall, but having been in school now for 3 semesters, I have lots to complain about.
1) Don't ask me what I got on the test and get ****** because I got an A. I studied hard and you partied all weekend. I got what I deserved and so did you.
2) Shut up! I don't care to hear yet another one of your stories about how your friend so and so relates to the discussion!
3) Would you please stop complaining about money! You go out drinking, go on vacation and go get your mani/pedis every week. I don't actually care that you now can't pay for college.
4) To one specific young lady in my A&P class: I don't have to agree with you when you talk about what a crappy professor we have. You only hate him because he's tough. I love him. Yes, he did tell us that would be on the test, you were just too busy talking to the person next to you to notice. Thanks for then gossiping about me to the whole class. They all see you for who you are, a mean petty person. Thanks for dropping out at the last minute. It helped me get through finals not having to deal with you. (Boy, that felt good!)
5) To all the young men and women that I have had the good fortune to meet, thank you. Going to school in my 40s was scary. It's nice to know that some people from this generation are warm and welcoming and amazing people. Can't wait to start nursing school with you and maybe work with you if I'm fortunate enough!

Mine would say the above except for you're an idiot and I can't stand you. And start showing up on time.

Yes, please stop obsessing over the culture project. It is worth only 2.5 points!
I'm sure I have more but those are what I needed to get out. For those in my class that will be moving on to level 2 with me, we did it and let's continue to see it through!!
See corrections above
Wow I'm so happy about where I go to nursing school. I haven't had any of these problems, everyone in my class and clinicals is very supportive and helpful of each other. Of course I am in the evening program, so everyone is older and more mature I suppose lol The class is a whole lot smaller than the daytime too, with only 30 some people in it. I'm not sure exactly what goes on during the day, but the evening students are awesome!!
Please STOP talking while the instructor is talking, it's incredibly RUDE! I moved to the front so that it was easier to hear the instructor and engage in related information/conversation while she is asking us certain questions, NOT to hear your loud mouth behind me!
Please STOP talking while and AFTER the instructor is handing out our pharm quizzes or exams, some of us receive them before your row and we are already taking the test/quiz. Have some respect!
One more for this person: Please STOP rustling your papers and messing around with your pencils/pens while the instructor is lecturing. It's very distracting!
For someone else, please SPEAK UP while asking a question in class, we shouldn't have to cup our ears towards you in order to hear anything you're saying, just three rows up. I know everyone has different tones and voices, BUT the instructor herself has to ask you two or three times what your question was EACH time you ask one!!
Stop bragging about everything, it's very childish and everyone is sick of hearing about it.
Enough with all the cliques and gossiping. We have all different ages in the program, but most are mature, grown adults! I thought that ended when people graduated high school?!
Stop complaining about this or that instructor being mean to you and in turn you don't like them. If you weren't late to clinicals and actually showed some effort, I am sure the instructor would view you differently. Be on time and be responsible, you'll need to be both in nursing!! There is a reason they are strict! Also, if you complain about every little thing when it comes to nursing and that you dislike this and that, WHY are you in the program???
Other than what I vented, the rest of my classmates are wonderful and very supportive! The instructors are awesome! The program is very rigorous, but I loved it! I am just SO glad to be graduating after next week!! Some of these fellow students I will definitely NOT miss, while others I will!
Dear Classmates:
It's been 5 long semesters. We came in as strangers, and we leave as a whole. There have been squabbles, laughs, and lots of tears together. You have helped me grow and become confident as a student, a nurse, and a leader.
Thank you for endless hours of study-buddies. Thank you for silent laughter in long meetings. Thank you for looking me in the face and saying, "You can do this". Thank you for listening to me rant. Thank you for letting me listen to YOU rant. Thank you for sharing M&Ms before exams, and for understanding glances after those exams. Thank you for cheering me on at national conferences when I received my awards, and thank you for letting me scream for you when you received your awards.
I appreciate all of you, and I don't know if you'll ever realize how much. You have my love, my respect, and my faith that you will all be fabulous nurses.
Love, Coriander
Dear girl who thinks she is perfect, I do not think that you are as spectacular as you do. Guess what? We ALL know you have been suspected of and accused of cheating numerous times. The only reason your a** didn't get kicked out is because they have no official proof. Your grades are false, we know it and you know it. Nursing isn't a contest and there will be no winner in the end. Next, you have the audacity to brag about your grades to the rest of the class knowing the majority didn't score as high as you? Wow!! I can't wait to see how ruthless & heartless you are towards your patients. Why did you put all of the time and effort into becoming a nurse? Is it so you could belittle your classmates to make yourself feel better? Maybe it was because you think it's a nice status symbol to have. You have stated numerous times how much you despise clinicals. Guess what sweetheart, working as a nurse involves all of the dirty stuff that clinicals involves. Let me guess, the paycheck makes it worth it, right? Here's my final thought, if you flaunt the fact that you are the first one of us to have gotten a job based on your academic excellence, but claim you only took it because you want the money; it makes you look like an a**h**e. Especially when it's at the same facility on the same floor you claimed to hate when we did clinicals there!!
I can't tell you the relief I feel in knowing that I will never have to spend so much time with you again. I hope. I hope I never have to listen to your bizarre lies again. I am only sorry that our classmates and instructors haven't yet been able to see straight through you to the lying, two-faced person you are. I feel for those poor souls who had to spend the last 2 years in a car with you. Those of us who know you aren't the class sweetheart are disgusted by you and your behavior. We are all boggled by the fact that your husband can't see through you. The fact that you offer zero participation in the care of your children should be a clue for him.
And that whopper of a lie you told a couple months ago? That one you thought you had everyone snowed with? You didn't.
