Woooohooo! No school tomorrow!
Probably a silly question, but since I'm not a school nurse I have to ask. What happens to those kids? Is there somebody at the school even if it's closed to make sure they are inside and safe until their parents can be contacted?
The principal is usually there. Where I work, there are not a LOT of kids who walk, but I assume there are places where there are a large number. I don't know the protocol.
I'm just worried that some kids may have been waiting at the busstop for who knows how long in -25 wind chill. Not safe.
Another day called for cold in Chicagoland. -3 with a windchill of -23.MY school is closed, my children's district is open, so I get an unexpected day to myself! I went shopping and now I will sit my happy butt down and watch Game of Thrones. Life is good.
I am a rabid GOT fan. Can't wait until April.

I am almost through the second season. I will watch the season 2 finale tonight :) I am watching on HBOGO, do you know if they add episodes on as soon as they air? I usually have only been bingewatching shows once they have aired in their entirety lately
Our school doesn't close even if the wind chill is in the -20 range. They figure if the buses start and run, it's all good. Years ago the district bought engine block heaters, and this helps the buses start. Before that, there were times they had to close because the buses wouldn't start.
Finally!! We finally had snow days! Five glorious days off! Back today with a delay. Sure was nice staying home while the temps dropped below 0, caught up on some reading and movies. Now lets knock the rest of this school year out with no more snow days, I need summer and green grass and sunshine!
I was off all last week, but it was the scheduled February break here in MA. We did, however, get another blizzard on the 14th, which would have likely closed schools at least Monday and Tuesday as the T was completely closed those two days. (We hit 100" of snow this season this week).
I spent all of it pretty much inside, going slowly crazier. I am back in school today, praying for no more school and for temps above freezing to finally melt the 8' snow piles.
I have watched all 10 seasons of Friends on Netflix.
