Democrats are excited about Harris and as of this writing she's raised 100 million dollars since Biden announced he was dropping out and throwing his support behind her.
Quote"Republicans, I worry, vastly underestimate Kamala Harris. They don't think very highly of her. They don't think she's terribly bright. When you or I bring up Kamala Harris' name in Republican circles, people laugh. It's immediately a punchline," Cruz said Monday on his podcast "Verdict with Ted Cruz."
Cruz warned against Republicans preemptively celebrating a Trump-Vance win months out from the election, arguing Democrats and the media will promote Harris as an "historic" candidate.

It's actually been media members themselves making noise about her lack of interviews.
But, yes Republicans have been too. They want the public to hear from her the bad ideas such as price controls. They want the public to hear her explain her changing thoughts on fracking and the border.
They also know the more she had to talk, the more gems of wisdom we'll get from her.
The Republicans are also concerned because Hiding Biden was a successful strategy in 2020. They don't want to see a repeat of that.

Slightly amusing at the most 😆 I'll take this over and over again over a single moment listening to Trump!
Heard an interesting take on this so-called controversy over KH's lack of press conferences. The commentator remarked that it was all a temper tantrum by "the media" because she was talking to the electorate instead of to them about the electorate.

Yes, the media seems quite committed to most of the right wing talking points and rhetoric. It's popular with the conservative voters so media wants those voters to think that they are providing balanced coverage. Of course everyone would like an interview with the new democratic candidate. That's to be expected. Team Trump worked hard to push that narrative that there was some dark reason that an interview or press briefing. Instead she understands that talking to the voters directly is most effective.
Harris has had no problem communicating the tone and intentions of her campaign and presidency to the voters. When she speaks she is generally representing herself on a respectable, intelligent and thoughtful fashion. That is not true of her opponent, there's nothing honorable or respectable or intelligent in most of his campaign remarks or interviews.
Hiding Biden...LOL. it's almost like you forgot that Biden beat Trump in a fair election and then showed the country what an effective and honorable presidency looks like. Trump got fired and Biden was a nice change after the failed and chaotic Trump presidency.
I think lots of people are getting weary of the dark and depressed view that Trump campaigns on. I think they're bored with his unimaginative complaints and negativity. I think Trump is going to continue to drop in the polling as his mental health continues to unravel in the public eye.

I heard about it from Trump and other politicians and especially Fox News. But it seems reasonable the press would want interviews of her. She's a hot commodity.
It's just too bad people didn't give her any leeway to get organized and plan for the convention. Within a week or two it was "dodging the press" and dear old Trump gave two press conferences, full of lies. woo hoo
Biden holds the record for the fewest press conferences of a President. Trump went a year between press conferences when he was president after his first one. I guess "dodging" the press is a tradition.
The press are vipers criticizing her for dodging the press and then going after her. But that's the press being the press I guess. LOL

What specific "absurd Trump talking points" did you object to?
QuoteSo you have been vice president for three and a half years. The steps that you're talking about now, why haven't you done them already?
I would assume Dana Bash understands what a Vice President can do and what they can't do, both politically and on policy issues, so the only reason to ask that is to parrot a Trump campaign talking point.
QuoteI want to ask you about is what he said last month. He suggested that you happened to turn Black recently for political purposes, questioning a core part of your identity.
Just because she didn't take the bait makes this no less an absurd Trump talking point. She didn't ask that question because she expected an answer. "No, I did not turn black recently for political purposes" ?
QuoteThis was not on either of your bingo cards, especially yours. You had to clarify that you had said that you and your wife used IVF, but it turned out you used a different kind of fertility in order to have children.
Is that even a real question? It's the Trump people who want to butt into other people's private lives. Her intrusive question never should have been asked. Therefore, it's a Trump talking point.

She's taking credit for so-called accomplishments the Biden administration made. So, she should be able to speak to things they didn't do.

I don't think they ever got to the question. We don't know what Dana Bash was going to ask. I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong.

You actually presented this one out of context. Here is the entire pertinent quote:
"One other question, because again, this is all new. However many days ago, this was not on either of your bingo cards, especially yours. You had to clarify that you had said that you and your wife used IVF but it turned out that you used a different kind of fertility in order to have children. And then when you ran for Congress in 2006, your campaign repeatedly made false statements about a 1995 arrest for drunk and reckless driving. What do you say to voters who aren't sure whether they can take you at your word?:
Trump talking point or not, it's a legitimate question.
toomuchbaloney said:You should simply reread the words of yours that I quoted. Your words reveal your thinking and values.
Please. Show me my word where I said that Harris, or any POC male or female is only has power/success because of DEI.
It's your thinking and values and the only words like that came from you.
QuoteWhy did we want Trump there? It wasn't to help his political campaign,” Mark Schmitz, father of Marine lance corporal Jared Schmitz, said in one video. "We wanted a leader. That explains why you and Joe didn't get a call.”
Darren Hoover, the father of Marine staff Sgt Taylor Hoover, said Harris lacks "empathy and basic understanding" about the event, and emphasized that Trump's appearance was respectful.

Woops. While Harris was defaming Trump for attending the Arlington Cemety service in which he was invited to attend by families who lost their loved ones in the "successful Afghan withdrawl" ...
She forgot about the families and quite ironically politicized the ceremony herself.
