Democrats are excited about Harris and as of this writing she's raised 100 million dollars since Biden announced he was dropping out and throwing his support behind her.
Quote"Republicans, I worry, vastly underestimate Kamala Harris. They don't think very highly of her. They don't think she's terribly bright. When you or I bring up Kamala Harris' name in Republican circles, people laugh. It's immediately a punchline," Cruz said Monday on his podcast "Verdict with Ted Cruz."
Cruz warned against Republicans preemptively celebrating a Trump-Vance win months out from the election, arguing Democrats and the media will promote Harris as an "historic" candidate.

I thought the analysis was rather nitpick-y. She was giving an acceptance speech, not a delivering an academic lecture. I think speakers are allowed some license to make generalizations, but not outright lies, as Trump does.
For instance, solving the housing crisis is aspirational, but definitely something that needs to be addressed. Saying something like "Putin can do whatever the hell he wants" doesn't need context. The statement is alarming in any context.

Beerman said the same thing about how they fact checked Trump.
I think this is what a lot of what fact checkers do, nitpick. And it's not always "this is a false statement..."
The one about the "national sales tax" and the $4,000 figure seems a bit off. She needs to back that number up and call it what it is, presumably the tariffs (which Biden left in place).
I agree saying "we're going to solve the housing crisis" is aspirational and one of those campaign promises that is mostly bullcrap.
I do think that something like "Putin can do whatever the hell he wants" needs context. It is alarming that he claims he wouldn't support our long standing treaty with NATO if Russia attacks a NATO country, if they don't pay their goal budget to NATO. It's our fault we carry the burden of NATO but they should show more initiative to meet their goals in my opinion.

So do you really think that Trump would ever tell Putin he cannot do something? He admires autocrats and authoritarians, and strives to be like them.
Yes, Biden has left in place tariffs on Chinese goods. Trump proposes to raise those tariffs on China, plus place 10% tariffs on all goods imported to the US. If you think about all the consumer goods and food that we import costing 10% more, that is equivalent to a sales tax. No matter what Trump says, tariffs are passed on to the consumer, not the country that is importing goods.

When Trump says that the press is the enemy of the people and reportedly spoke to the FBI director about jailing some of them and Harris points that out it is called misleading or a lie because Trump has no explicit policy to jail journalists. I have a problem with things like that.
I have a problem when a fact checker puts a much weight with the denials of the pathological liar as it does with the words of other people.
Trump should get exactly zero benefits of the doubt at this point in time.

I don't and appreciate they are using the same weight and standards with both candidates. Both sides claimed they were nitpicking. Of note was Harris had 12 vs. the over 160 for Trump. But a responsible fact checker doesn't change standards based on the candidate.
In my opinion.

I don't think you change standards, I think you acknowledge that the denials are coming from a pathological liar who is intentionally vague about plans.

This should read "I do appreciate that....
Walz, the liar. You have to dig deep but let's get the narrative going.
Quote"The idea is to attack someone's personality, and then these attacks become really almost like the canary in the gold mine, right?” he said. "So if he lies about his dog, if he lies about his illustrious career as a coach, he probably lies about many other things.”
