Democrats are excited about Harris and as of this writing she's raised 100 million dollars since Biden announced he was dropping out and throwing his support behind her.
Quote"Republicans, I worry, vastly underestimate Kamala Harris. They don't think very highly of her. They don't think she's terribly bright. When you or I bring up Kamala Harris' name in Republican circles, people laugh. It's immediately a punchline," Cruz said Monday on his podcast "Verdict with Ted Cruz."
Cruz warned against Republicans preemptively celebrating a Trump-Vance win months out from the election, arguing Democrats and the media will promote Harris as an "historic" candidate.

Compared to "interviews" by her opponent, she looked and sounded like a genius. No word salad, no campaign trail rants... it's a remarkable contrast.

For sure. I think Democrats were also breathing a sigh of relief that she held her own so well unlike Biden, who does very well with a script but not so well without one.
Of course Fox New's reports a "brutal take on Harris after weeks of dodging the press".

This is hilarious. A former prosecutor that lacks confidence. Pffft.
I wonder what that so-called body language expert has to say about accordion hands. Trump maintains eye contact because he's a psychopath.

What Donald Trump's Body Language Revealed at 2020 debate according to Alison Henderson, a body language expert at Moving Image Consulting LLC
QuoteHenderson pointed out that President Trump frequently uses an accordion-like hand movement and shared insight on what it could mean. "He continued his open palm movement throughout the debate in his 'I have nothing to hide' signal," she said. "Often, he did this move with shrinking his shoulders and tightening his body when he brought his hands to his center. This can undermine the truth signal by giving the signal that he is shrinking away from his words."

The only surprise here was that the Trump-Vance campaign was actually dumb enough to set this up as "she'll fall apart under scrutiny", resembles a giggling teenager, lacks intelligence, etc. From what I've read over the years-- a line of attack only works if there is a shred of truth to it, whether fair or unfair.
I keep asking myself if they looked into her background prior to her being chosen as Biden's VP? Would any prosecutor of any jurisdiction stay in that job if they wilted under pressure? California in many ways is comparable to a country, making her job comparable to the Attorney General of a country.
I guess that collided with another dumb assumption, that the population of almost 40 million people consists entirely of radical left movies stars and people living in homeless camps.
I was dismayed to see that Dana Bash seemed to bring up every absurd Trump talking point-- but that was made up for with the VP's frank refusal to discuss the racial identity line of attack. Dana seemed so crestfallen about that. I'm sure she was hoping for fireworks to crank up viewer numbers.

Most likely that was to avoid the accusation of being biased because it was the fake news media CNN that was the host. I think the Trump talking points were necessary questions.
I also wonder why after just a few weeks she got the accusation of dodging the press and why there so much pressure on her do to an unscripted interview so soon. Although I'm sure she started long before Biden's actual announcement, her priorities were setting up her campaign, her team, fundraising, set an agenda, pick a running mate and then convention. She was busy, not dodging the press. But glad she could put that part to rest.

I agree she didn't damage herself. But, I don't know that this 18 minute tag-team softball interview was an example of her overcoming scrutiny.
What specific "absurd Trump talking points" did you object to?

She should be able to do all those things (that staff has a big part in) and speak with the press.
She most definitely is avoiding and will continue to do so.
