Not sure if we have started this type of thread yet this year or not but...what are you doing this summer? Working, traveling, drinking beer on the beach (OldDude)?
I will be chauffeuring my 2 daughters to what we call Summer School for Smarty Pants (enrichment not remedial summer school) for most of the month of June. We have a week long camping trip scheduled for July but otherwise NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH! I can't wait! I am hoping for lots of sleeping in without an alarm, long days on the deck with a cold drink and a book, trips to the lake, working on some home improvement projects and catching up on my scrapbooking. I will have to work 2 to 3 shifts a month at my side gig job but I seriously can't wait for summer vacation to start. Next Thursday, the 24th, is my last work day. Normally our school year ends in June but we have schools being renovated and the district wanted a long summer this year so we get 2 extra weeks!
June 9th-16th I'm going a mission trip to Guadalajara, Mexico. (I can't wait!!!).
I would love to hear about this trip. I went on a medical mission trip last summer and it was great, first time traveling to another country (that wasn't on cruise vacation) and it was eye opening - would love to do another one. I have been looking into other medical mission trips - really would like to find something not religious based - but right now with 2 kids in college I need to wait a few more years.

I have a friend who goes to Haiti on medical mission trips. She has invited me but I feel like my kids are still too young for me to leave them for that long to go overseas. One day though! It's definitely on my bucket list!
I'm looking forward to my vacation at Myrtle Beach, SC for a week in July. The hardest thing I'll do this summer is being a chauffeur for my 2 kids going to baseball, basketball and robotics camps. I'm also taking 2 online classes for my Master's degree then I'll be done with all my core courses. When I have time, I'll be trying to make my nurse friends at the hospital jealous by taking selfies at the community pool and bragging about how I have 2 months off with my kids.

I have always wanted to go on Mercy Ships during the summer. I will give you an update when I can. This will be my first time out of the country.
Well, nothing glamorous, I assure you, mostly trying to get my yard in shape. I have a nasty small pine for which I intend to do battle. I just bought the house a year and a half or so ago. What nimrod plants a pine tree that close to the house?! They belong up north where God put em! LOL

Oh, I almost forgot, I am training for a half marathon in September, so that will be a big part of my summer!
