The good news – I was accepted into my nursing BSN program for next semester!
The bad news – we have a required white dress which is as thin as cheap drape, and the hem hits 2 inches above my knee when standing. When sitting or bending, it rides up even higher.
The dress code calls for white hosiery – pantyhose or knee-highs. Knee-highs? !!! If this didn’t come from the manufacturer, I would think it could be something for Halloween! Eek!
Well, I must agree that it looks like one of those nursey Halloween outfits. Is there any way your class can get together to have this ridiculously short dress banned. If a dress is what they want you to wear, you could show them other options that are available. More modest examples. I'm afraid if this dress was worn, you may not get the respect that you deserve. Maybe they will change their mind if there is enough opposition. It is realistically inappropriate in length .
If I were a guy, and that's the uniform they required, I'd wear it just to support the women. I would. Seriously.
That borders on disgusting and I'd scream discrimination. To me, that's objectifying and immodest.
I would seriously call the law school. That's BS.
And anyone who knows me will tell you I don't offend easily!
Wow. I am so sorry! And here I complained about our stiff white tops and bottoms with CAPS, but seeing that, I'll take my cap any day. ITA with you that it's terribly impractical. Now I guess you're faced with the prospect of dealing with it or making it an issue, and that could spell trouble for you.
Good luck!

if you are not "pulling our legs" with this, i would develope a "religious" issue and suggest my own alternatives to this out fit......but i cant see any school seriously demanding you wear this....and when they suggest knee highs, i am thinking there is a pant alternative, again is this whole post isnt meant to amuse
I had the same reaction some other posters did, although I didn't put it in my original post. It looks like some male fantasy of what nurses *should* wear. I think one of the posters referred to it as "hot". I adore dresses and will pick a dress over pants any day, but (a) I like my dresses long and flowing and (b) I don't wear dresses when I know I have to do a lot of physical work, lifting, bending, etc.
I love the idea of the male students wearing the dress, BTW. I guess that wouldn't be met with peals of laughter by the school and/or hospital administration, though. :chuckle

That is the worst uniform I have ever seen! I'm so sorry you have to wear that! Did you get any kind of choice in the matter? That's old school for sure.
