I think I'm done answering student nurse help me threads here.
I've gotten rude answers, or they never even bother coming back to the thread to acknowledge the answers they received.
Some will ask life choice questions like "Where should I move?" or "Where should I apply?". Do they think someone is going to offer them a job here, is that why they start these threads? You have the whole internet to research towns, cities, regions, but instead you post a thread asking a bunch of strangers where you should move?
Some help me threads seem to be 'Help me do my homework' threads.
Just make sure you post in each state forum, general nursing discussion, Nursing student forum, pre-nursing student, NCLEX forum-PLEASE don't forget the NCLEX forum!!!
And probably each of the specialty forums that they aspire to work in as well, just for good measure.
The "is this the good pop up" posts amuse me, mostly, but I do see how they can be a bit of a drag since there are usually a gazillion just on the first page of the NCLEX forum. I joined AN in 09 when I first started thinking about becoming a nurse and I knew what the good pop up was long before I took the NCLEX this past December. There are even screen shots of what it looks like in some posts if only people would utilize the handy dandy skills of scrolling and searching through posts.
I am one of those "older" in years but wet behind the ears nurses since I just graduated in Dec and passed NCLEX PN last month. Someday I want to be as wise the COBs in these parts. So much wisdom and humor. Makes AN a terrific community if you ask me.
