I must be the worst nurse in the world.
Now I need to figure out my next step. And it isn't nursing.
No specific reason. They think I "could" be unsafe.
Pffft.
Here's a hug, Sue. (((hug))) :icon_hug:
LTC gave you a horrible run for your money throughout the past year and a half, and now med-surg has dealt this disgusting blow. There's light at the end of the tunnel, Sue. You'll find your niche somewhere. I'll keep my fingers crossed with the hopes that your situation will result in an unexpected paradise.
You already know what they say about serendipity. . .
Sending HUGE HUGS to you {{{{{{{{{{{{{sue}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Finish the RN degree and you'll be qualified for much better jobs than the bad ones you've had. You'll leave the evil witches behind in the dust
Two things:
Hugs, and more power to you. You deserve to succeed, over and over again.
Sue,
I am beginning to wonder if there is NO end to the amusement these so-called "mentors" find in setting up gifted nurses such as you for failure?
Excuse my language, but I have seen nurses who literally could not pour pee out of a boot with the directions written on it receive all the spoils, while consciencous, hard-working nurses (like you) are victimized by a system which makes it a point to ensure that "no good deed goes unpunished".
Thinking that you "could" be unsafe and being unsafe are two different things...and I would make it my mission in life to prove everyone who has defamed you wrong!
The BEST to you, as you return to school. Come back afterwards and get those mentors' jobs! :trout:
Wow- I don't know what to say. I think we can all tell that you're a great nurse. Get that RN degree- that's a very smart move. I did the Excelsior program, too. If I could do it, I know you can. If you need a support person while you finish the program, let me know and I'll be glad to be of any help that you might need. I had an EC grad who supported me through the program, and it made all the difference in the world.
Thanks, Baptized. I just took the practice exam A for NC 5 last night and got a 64, with no reading, so I'm going to reschdule the real exam for next friday. And then 6 for 2 weeks later, and then 7, and then apply for the CPNE.
I can't be a great nurse. I patted a 90 year old woman too weak with pneumonia to lift her arms or head and called her a "poor old thing." NM: "Why would you SAY something like that?" Um, because she's a poor old thing? I think she knows she's not 22.
:)
I'm okay, all. And thanks, so much.
Honey, I am so sorry that this happened to you. It really sucks when bad things happen to good people. Keep your chin up. Something will come along that will have you singing for joy. There is a place for you out there, you just haven't found it. If you're in a position where you can take some time, sit back and decide what you really want to do. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I really do feel your pain. Please keep thinking positive thoughts. BIG hugs to you. :kiss:icon_hug:

I'm sorry to hear you had such a hard time. It's crazy that places can be so short-sighted and miserable to new employees. Crazy but true. If you're wondering "is it them or me that's off base here?" I can pretty confidently tell you that "it's them!"
From your experience, it sounds like getting out of there sooner rather than later may turn out to truly be best. I hope you continue to find ways to focus your energies and have faith that there is something better out there for you!
May you find a path that gives you hope and satisfaction!
