I must be the worst nurse in the world.
Now I need to figure out my next step. And it isn't nursing.
No specific reason. They think I "could" be unsafe.
Pffft.

Y'know, Sue, your preceptors sound like the type that give GOOD nursing preceptors a bad name. . . eating their young . . .
shame on them. Today is for chocolate. Tomorrow will come soon enough.

Crap! I read your posts as well, Suesquatch, and you care for your patients. I agree that perhaps you have not found your niche, or the right place to work. But you WILL.

Thanks, all.
Well, I have a new plan. DH and I are just going to live very frugally over the next few months and I'm going to bang out the RN classes I have left via Excelsior.
I'm not going back as an LPN, and I'm sure as heck not going back to med/surg. Once I am an RN I have options, and they are not only the nursing home or med/surg.
Thanks for all of your kind words. I'm feeling, to quote the Fuggs, like homemade shiddle-iddle-iddle it. With appologies to the TOS.
:)
I'll be ok. I just hate feeling played, which I was the last few weeks here.

Sue, I read your post from a little over a week ago about the hard time you were having. And I'm with Tazzi...without clearcut evidence that you've caused or potentially caused harm, it's just bogus for them to do this!
But you know what, I believe there truly IS a reason this happened...and NO it is not because you are a bad nurse!! I honestly believe that despite our freewill, God is ultimately in control and if He has a greater purpose for you elsewhere, then elsewhere is where you'll end up - not at that east bumble facility!
I'm really not a religious person (not now anyways), but for some reason, I just feel the need to tell you to turn all of your cares, worries, doubts, etc. over to Him right now and seek His direction for your life. He may not show you right away, or as fast as you'd like, but just have faith that He will!
You are in a dark valley right now, but Sue, just keep walking, and I truly believe that you'll have to close your eyes for all the brightness
that lies ahead for you!

Great to see your plans and I agree wholeheartedly. Get your RN and go knock 'em dead.
You are a good person and do not let anyone tell you differently.

i have to agree with nursecherlove.
i can truly say that it has been through the worst of times, that i have reaped the richest times of my life, so far.
that faith brought me through, and hindsight affirmed all i gained.
already, you have turned this into an opportunity-
that you're returning to school.
i think that's awesome, sue.
and i am very confident that God wants your blessed qualities in caring for others less fortunate.
do not give up on nursing.
if you care to pm me, i'll be glad to share how i've been stabbed in nsg, and came back full force, and then some.
i'm so thrilled to hear about you going for your rn.
thrilled. :balloons::balloons::balloons:

Suesquatch, I agree with all other posters here. I enjoy reading your posts. You are a most wonderful nurse and I hope you can feel a most massive hug from me. I too will lift you up to God. Hang in there girl. I'm a BSN and I currently working as a 'disease management analyst', to use my long-sounding title. There are other jobs than med-surg floor nursing.
