So I'm fired. Again.

Nurses General Nursing

I must be the worst nurse in the world.

Now I need to figure out my next step. And it isn't nursing.

No specific reason. They think I "could" be unsafe.

Pffft.

Thanks, all. It's just hard to type through the tears. I've been crying off and on since I got the news.

I didn't "do" anything. A couple of preceptors gave me a hard time, told the manager that I wasn't "open to learning" and that they "felt" I "could be" unsafe, so I was given to another preceptor who apparently agreed.

Anyway. I actually hated what I was doing, since day one, job one. Now I need to figure out what's next.

it breeaks my heart when i hear folks who "hate it from day one" - seems to be a going thing these days of throwing out the new grads to fend for themselves. if you dislike it that much i wuold say that is probablypart of theproblem. not that you are a bad nurse - good nurses can have bad attitudes and hating something breeds bad attitudes. perhaps you could go into a part of nursing like patient advocate or a nurse advocate!! we need people who would lobby for changes in our workplaces and having a knowlege of what we do it would help to get some changes done- then perhaps one day you can come back in and love it :)
