Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

For example, Trump and many Trump supporters are anti-vaxers and Q-crazies. Trump spewed lies that displayed his anti-science egocentric beliefs. In fact, Governor Cuomo was pointing out that the Federal "opinion" at the time was nonsense because it was anti-science. Which is not the same as Democrats not wanting a vaccine. Democrats wanted a vaccine on day one so long as scientist and not Trump's crazy and unqualified picks as the head of the CDC and the head of the Federal non-response to the pandemic, were free to speak and do their jobs in order to save lives in our country.
Agree. Like I said "who can blame them" for being skeptics. You don't have to convince me. I was there.

But yes, it would hard to admit that underneath it all while Democrats were as desperate as anyone for a vaccine, it coming out prior to the election and benefiting Trump would have been an issue.
More than likely if the vaccine came out prior to the election, Democrats would have continued to focus on his overall handling of the pandemic.
But again, like as has been pointed out, people like myself were waiting to hear from science, not Trump. I knew the trials were underway and I was hopeful, but Trump bloviating about certainly didn't inspire me to feel "safe about embracing the rapid development of the vaccine".
At the end of the day, here we are months later and hesitancy is higher among Republicans than Democrats. I don't think that's just because Democrats felt safe to embrace it after the election (which is when the announcement was made...cue conspiracy theories), it's because we felt safe with the science and trust the process.

No one actually thought Trimp was in the lab with his hands on the vaccine itself or that he'd be injecting arms.

The only person "worried" about Trump "getting credit" was Trump and Trump devotees like yourself. No other person is as consumed with the need for Trump to get credit for something than the narcissist himself. That's been made abundantly clear over and over again. On schedule here you are, again, insisting that the fellow who lied about the virus and suggested that bleach might be a reasonable treatment get adequate accolades for vaccine development.
It's almost pathetic but not at all surprising.
What we really want to celebrate is Biden managing to get so much vaccine into American arms in 100 days. But, yeah, Trump is certain that he needs more credit.
9 hours ago, Beerman said:We may disagree on what caused it, but what's important now is how it's being handled. The current administration is failing at that.
The number of unaccompanied minors in CBP custody is down 82% from a month ago and the time-to-process them is down 80%. I'm not clear what criteria you're using to define "failing".

It is kind of funny that when we criticize Biden some of us go back to "but Trump.....". Or when Biden is praised, some go back to "but Trump....."
As I said a few days ago, I'll be glad when we stop talking about Trump when talking about Biden.

No, my comments have been more about Biden taking credit then about Trump. I've more then.once said something along the lines of it's a fair debate as far as how much credit Trump deserves, but he certainly has more to do with its success then Biden. And that comes from Biden touting his 100 million doses in a hundred days. We were already at that rate on inauguration day.
And, we are backsliding at alarming speed. I wonder what the administration is planning on doing about it?
For over 35 years, Biden took Amtrak from Wilmington to Wash DC to work. So fitting he was in Philly today to celebrate it's 50th anniversary and tout his jobs plan.
My mom used to work for Pennsylvania railroad and I've taken our local train into Philly many times throughout my life but never to Washington-- drove instead 2 1/2hrs.
Plans are underway to develop a high speed line from Philadelphia to Pottstown, PA --40 miles away from center city along busy commuter Route 422 highway which would greatly ease traffic congestion and cut time on the road. This legislation, the American Jobs Plan, will enable funding to make this project happen. Takes me 45 min on a good day to get to Pottstown area -traffic-accident add at least 30 min. Glad I'm no longer doing home care in this area.

QuoteBiden’s visit came at the end of the week in which he marked his 100th day in office, and as he pressed his case for a sweeping infrastructure proposal that includes $80 billion for rail.
I am not sure why we keep giving tax payer money to Amtrak when they cant seem to get their issues fixed.

Seems like a big boondoggle to me

Kinda like the very expensive one in California that has done nothing but suck taxpayer money for the "train" there.

Biden touts a ‘once-in-a-generation opportunity’ for Amtrak during Philly visit
Biden needs to do something about that Schuylkill from City Line to KOP. When I was at Haverford I hated going to the mall because of that road and traffic. Hated it!!

Yes, you are right. There have been studies done that indicate that by far the most cost effective mode of mass transit in almost all scenarios is expanding the highway to add bus lanes.
In the PA example above, no one is going to choose a train to maybe save 15 minutes. Especially when you consider you have to drive or walk to and from train, and actually spend time waiting for train.
Our new trains all over the Denver area are for the most part a failure, financially speaking.

Yes, I have seen those studies also!
And, same for the Calif train. Was supposed to go from San Fran to LA but now supposed to go (still not actually going yet!) from Merced to Bakersfield because of the botched job they did. It's a total joke and might be funny if not for how much tax payer money they have completely wasted ( or otherwise misplaced!). Nobody in their right mind thinks Calif needs a high speed train between Bakersfield and Merced except inept politicians.
And wait, inept Dem policies coming your state soon!
But hopefully people in Cali have seen the light and will recall Newsom. Who btw is double checking all the signatures on the recall petitions. Hmm, OK to check for voter fraud now I guess. And, also they have put together a bill to release (ie dox) all the names and info of we the people who have signed the petition, kinda sounds like voter intimidation doesnt it.
Yep, no tyranny going on here.
