Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

All of those "not right" things add up to a really big flashing warning that this is dangerous and un-American but we seem unable to acknowledge that because the people doing the not right things are wealthy. Or maybe the media is making it seem like these things are "right" and reasonable in spite of the evidence to the contrary.
What media are you refering to? You always say the "media". What media purposly caters for Trump other than maybe Fox and News Max? . Left media seems consistent with their bias of Trump.

Vance did pretty well on the world stage. The US certainly has more free speech than Germany. Trump can lie and people can spread lies and fact checks or truth can't stop them because that's censorship. We can fly Nazi flags and be a part of the Nazi party and Germany can not.
If you think Trump and Vance have a vested interest in Germany's free speech I can't tell you want to think.
I don't think they are interested in Germany's free speech more than they are interested in the party they feel was censored because they are a right wing anti-immigrant party.
Yes and people can openly support at terrorist organization call for "River to the Sea" and be openly antisemitic in Jewish neighborhoods in the US as well.
Your question in the comment was "...do you feel better....?", I answered yes.

Tiktok is back, with some interesting differences.
Remember how Fauci initially handled the AIDS pandemic?

"Officially changed" LOL. Which part of Article II of the Constitution grants POTUS the power to rename geographic features?
No electric power with 60 mile/hr wind gusts in Philly this afternoon; son home work, got generator going, on cellphone. Why is this discussion under Biden thread?
Independent Associated Press/AP is part of legacy media who's reporting carried by international news organizations. Only US recognizing Trumps name Gulf of America for this body of water, so could be confused reporting to call Gulf of Mexico by another name. It's CENSORSHIP when long term news organizations no longer have access to the president due to minor inconsequential issue. Have maps/globes been changed yet in all public school classrooms---- and at what cost?

This whole post sounds like a Biden quote.

Sorry I didn't catch that. When someone points out something someone in my group does that they don't like I personally don't feel better about it by deflecting to something the other group did that was worse. I don't change the subject. But that's just me, but you do you.

QuoteDr. Fauci's response to the AIDS crisis in the 1980s was first widely criticized by LGBTQIA+ activists. "We wanted treatment because we were sick and the only place where there was any possible area to get any treatment was through the clinical research system. And that's what led us to you,” said AIDS activist David Barr. However, in later years he became a widely respected ally, eventually developing lifelong friendships with the activists.
I do believe Heron probably was talking something else regarding the language at the time, but we're all aware about the government's response at the time which includes Fauci as well as the hysteria of the American public.

I found an old article talking about Reagan's press secretary talking to a reporter.
QuoteThe exchanges are hugely revealing. For one, they show just how little was known about the disease when the epidemic first broke — people thought it was exclusive to gay people, and thought that it could be transmitted through saliva, even though HIV can only be transmitted through blood, semen, pre-cum, rectal fluids, vaginal fluids, and breast milk.
The exchanges also demonstrated that Reagan and his administration didn't take the epidemic very seriously, for which the Reagan administration is still heavily criticized. His successors eventually acted, albeit often very slowly, on the crisis — leading to much more research, programs like the Ryan White CARE Act that connect people to care, and the development of antiretroviral medication that increases the life expectancy of a person living with HIV by decades.

Agree, Karen. I don't know why this thread is titled Biden anymore. He's now past history. It should be closed. And we are in snowmageddon here and worried about our 1917 garage will collapse under the weight of the feet of snow we now have on the roof. Trump attempt to make us look away with the most trivial of issues while he's firing the guys that guard and care for our nuclear arsenal. Oops!

You're spot on, Tweety. I worked in an urban university health service in the middle eighties and started working in on an AIDS inpatient unit from '87 through '98. I got up close and personal with the social, political and corporate shenanigans of that particular power struggle.

Homophobia played a big role in how our politicians handled the emergence of HIV.
