Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

Again, the Trump administration family separation policy was to separate children from their parents even if they were aware they were in fact their parents and not traffickers.

It's not that I didn't answer. It's that you didn't like my answer, so you were hoping for a different one.
Anyway, let's say that Cuomo had signed a order that covid patients could NOT go to nursing homes. Obviously, other solutions would have been found and lives would have been saved.
Your answer was based on the premise that the hospital ship and field hospitals were taking Covid positive patients, they weren't, it's not about not liking the answer it's that the basis of the answer was false.
There weren't "other solutions" other than that hospitals wouldn't have been able to discharge them, which would have been far more likely to result in deaths than discharging them to nursing homes since it wasn't these discharged patients that started Covid outbreaks in the nursing homes.
I realize that what happens when hospitals get overburdened in situations like this, the Code White triaging and rationing of care, seems abstract, but when you have tell patients that normally they would be fairly fixable, but the amount of a physician's time and nursing staff time that it would take to treat them would be better used to treat others it makes you realize how important to move every single possible patient out of the hospital that doesn't need to be there. It makes your suggestion that NY hospitals should have held on to the 6,000 plus nursing home residents that weren't requiring hospital care when this sort of rationing was occurring seem pretty absurd.

Fran, I love you madly and have for years, but this is hogwash. In my loving opinion. LOL

Are you not missing the point? Kids, babies are not in their mother's arms. Do you have any idea how terrified they must have been?
I don't presume to judge what the parents did, I only know that I can't stand to see a young kid suffering. I left medical nursing because of working pediatric oncology and listening to pastors stating that it was God's wishes but I also couldn't stand to see innocent children in pain and being so strong.
I have the benefit of having an amazing childhood and I wish all children could be equally blessed, so it really, really bothered me hearing of the situation and then having it confirmed and knowing that the originators of the policy couldn't even have bothered to take extensive research, to make sure those kids were always connected to their loved ones. And that some kids are still not able to see their parents because Trump's people were so callous re keeping information re the parents whereabouts.
That speaks volumes to me! Volumes!

Yeah, well I'm a peds ER nurse that in our ER sees 200 to 300 kids a day. So, I know both the great and inspirational parents as well as the ones who should go to H E double hockey sticks.

It's so weird then that a peds nurse would ignore the intentional cruelty of the Trump/Sessions policy and continue to imply that Biden's policy is the same. It's almost as if the concern about the children in cages is driven by political rather than moral or ethical considerations. It's clearly not driven by the facts and details.
According to Biden, abuse and genocide in China is a "cultural norm".

That was an interesting interpretation of words..."justified"...LOL

If it's so obvious, why won't you state what your alternate plan was? I can't find it. And it can't be ships or field hospital because they didn't work for the multitude of reasons I sent you. Remember that the ER's and the ICU's are bursting at the seams and hospitals need remediation now..not a week or a month from now.
Instead of castigating a governor (out of several governors who did the same thing ) of making an error under wartime conditions, let's deal with problems that are in our face now such as hiring a surgeon general without financial conflicts of interest:https://www.medpagetoday.com/blogs/vinay-prasad/91307.
You Foxers love to beat a dead horse. Geez, you are still blaming Hilary for what's wrong with the world. Get OVER it and let's deal with reality in the now where we can actually do some good.

Who's beating the dead horse, here? LOL!
Yes, you mentioned bureaucracy is a big reason those sites weren't used. Is he not part of that? Does he not have the power to remove elements of bureaucracy?
Anyway, he has denied covid patients had to go to nursing homes. He contradicts your theory that they needed "remediation now".
Assuming they indeed did need to send nursing home patients out, there are plenty of options. More field hospitals, use hotels, cruise ships, schools, govt office buildings, etc. Its not rocket science.

But your scenario doesn't address the intentional separation of children from family members that followed Sessions zero tolerance immigration policy. It was intended to be punitive, they said as much.
Is it that you simply can't intellectually acknowledge these facts or is it that you can't intellectually comprehend that what Trump did was different from any other policy? You have been provided the details again and again.
