Does your school still say the Pledge of Allegiance? I've seen posts around facebook lately along the lines of "bring the pledge back into school" or "Do you remember when?" with pictures of kids facing the flag. And it got me to wondering how many schools still did this, if it was a regional thing, private/public thing, ect.
We are a public school and still have the pledge broadcast every morning at the start of the day. Every kid (and staff) stand, face the flag and recite together. Obviously from my name, you can gather I'm in the midwest.
What do you do?
We do the pledge every day. Students know to stop where they are and find a flag . We also do our school pledge
At ---- I am somebody. I want to be a success in life. I will work hard and always do my best. I will treat others with respect and dignity, and I expect them to treat me the same way. At ---- I am somebody. Everyday. Always be Successful. Get along with others. Learn Responsibility. Expect to Succeed."

Love your School pledge. We have one too that the students say after the pledge of allegiance. Its called our "Rare Gem" pledge.
"I pledge to be a Rare gem today and every day.
I will be Responsible
I will Always be Safe
I will be Respectul
I will be Engaged.
Try my best!"
