Nursing scrubs are darn expensive

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Just spent a ton on scrubs for the summer. Why are these things so darned expensive? It ticks me the heck off(I'd rather spend on other stuff:D).

I mean to get good stuff, you spend a ton.Does this tick you off too?

Scrubs don't go out of style quickly, are almost indestructable and do not require dry cleaning.

I guess I think scrubs are a bargain for work clothes.

I wear grays anatomy because I love them, i'm wearing them 3-4 days a week for 14 hours a time so I should love them right? I don't mind the extra buck or two. I really feel quite grateful actually that I get to wear scrubs, even the pricier ones when my roommate who works in business where she has to wean "business formal" spends hundreds of dollars a year on suits, skirts and shoes...so glad I don't have to foot that bill!

My work clothes used to cost $100-$300 an outfit and you couldn't easily pull off wearing them twice in one week like I can with my scrubs. I buy from cherokee4less.com and pay $15 or less a piece, and usually get to use a coupon for 30% off and free shipping. Needless to say I think it's awesome lol

In my previous non nursing career, I spent at least two thousand, if not more every year for basic clothes (cardigans, dress pants, shoes, suits, jewelry). Now I have spent $300 max for few years which include 4 sets of navy scrubs and dankos. The hospital changed to a color scrub system. It would have been less but I love greys. Plus my dankos will last a long time. I do not have to own flats, heels, wedge, sandals, etc in every color. But I def miss shoe shopping!Plus I save a ton of time not picking out my clothes every day :)

I wear scrubs 4 days a week to clinicals and the classroom. 2 sets of Landau navy blue

My wifey washes them in Woolite, haven't faded yet.

Hmmm I'm missing something here:D

Considering what a business casual outfit or a suit costs, I think scrubs are pretty darned cheap. Even the fancy brands.

I'm happy to wear nursing scrubs over pantyhose any day, lol. I love koi and pay a few more dollars. Doesn't help that I'm tall with hips.

I don't mind the price - what I *do* mind is buying all new scrubs for a job that has a color requirement and now, just 5 months later, being told that we are changing colors. *That* peeves me off (and no, they will not be helping with uniforms)

yeah I just spent $90 on 2 sets of scrubs, they dont even look that great

I've found good deals at:

http://www.marcusuniforms.com/

http://www.allheart.com/

and

http://www.lydiasuniforms.com/

The only downside to online is the possibility of having to return because sometimes sizing can be tricky

Eeek. I've never spent that much for just two sets. Burlington Coat Factory and other discount stores often have scrubs, you can often find name brands. I got a set of scrubs (top and bottoms) for $14.
