Denied by the California BON....help

World Registration

Published

I graduated BSN in the Philippines 2007 After taking the exam 2x they re-evaluate my application and found out that i did not qualify to take the exam. I found out that my cases did not meet there requirements.

1st question: Do you think i can still be eligible to apply to another state like florida?

2nd question: Can i apply for LVN?

Please. Any advice????

Thanks.

my opinion is every US State has its own way of evaluating your nursing credentials before you sit for NCLEx. California has no CGFNS but it has its own way of processing your application. One State's approval doesn't guarantee another State's approval. just sharing ...

Yes I agree with you, but it's worth trying if you're willing to wait for the CGFNS result.

Every State is independent form each other's regulation. while Ca doesn't have CGFNS, its OWN way of processing credentials is equivalent to it. You cannot circumvent the rule. Just trying to explain.

i just curious if anyone here graduated in tamaraw (feu) get deny for applying nclex exam? please let me know... so that our school can do something to meet the requirements of nclex takers. thanks!

Hi fellow tamaraw! :) Are you also having concurrency problems?

@dee07 so far, im ok.. i already passed my nclex 2 yrs ago... its really heart breaking for us to know what happen to our kababayan who are trying to submit requirements in ca bon.. i never thought that getting harder nowadays..how about you do u also have problem in ca bon?

Oh I see. I thought that you were encountering problems too.Yea, I have a concurrency problem. I have to take ms and ob again.

Well, its nice to hear that you already have your licence. :) knowing that you you also went to feu gives me hope because

even though ca bon is enforcing stricter rules, at least I know that several people from my school were able to get their license. I guess we just have to overcome this obstacle somehow and hope that it will have a positive outcome.

It is not circumventing the rule, rather just arguing the point that if other accrediting organization have given your foreign education an equivalency to the US curriculum then CA BRN must be incorrect for not recognizing your foreign BSN.I think it is still worth a try. whats to lose anyways, right?

Hi, Dee....glad to see that your other friends and people have gotten their license, but do you know if they were from the same class, same exact courses taken and all submitted at about the same time? Also, do you know if they all had the same examiner or analyst or different ones?

I'm trying to see if the submitted documents are all the exact same items, but with same examiner and approved, then, it's the other examiner's that's the problem, as it appears one examiner is letting them get their license. But if it's different examiner's, letting them go get their license, then there's some real inconsistencies with CA BON, letting some go and others get denied. Did I say that right lol?

These people you know was in the recent months or years ago.

I too am trying to help a PH friend get over here, but has been denied also.

Dee, good luck to you also.

I have been also denied of eligibility due to the discrepancies of my theoretical and clinical practice by the CaBRN. I am now planning to apply at Vermont State, however I am having second thoughts because there is a question on their application packet that says:

"Has Vermont or any other state, federal authority, or other jurisdiction (US or elsewhere) ever denied your application for a license, certificate, or registration in any profession or occupation? If "Yes", attach an official copy of the order or the official notification of the action."

Can someone enlighten me about this? I just want to maximize my resources and manage it efficiently. :(

I think it means exactly what it says, you have to attach the letter to the state of Vermont, and I would be they will deny it too, because it is the standard to have clinical with theory.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

It doesn't mean you may be denied however they do have the right to know if you have been denied at another state

Hi, the friends that I know who were able to get their license graduated a year or 2 earlier, so I guess during that time, ca bon was not that strict yet. They did not submit it at the same time.Yes, same course, and they submitted the same documents. Sorry to say but I don't know if they had the same analyst.

Yes, I think I see your point.hehe. It's just really confusing now how others are having a harder time dealing with this. Ca Bon has become stricter in enforcing the rules I guess. Requiring additional documents on top of the other documents. I really don't know if it depends on who the analyst is.

Thank you and good luck to your friend too..I hope things work out. :)

@dee07 we should inform our school so that they can fix our problem about requirements in california.. i wish that you can get your eligibility soon and good luck ok..we must be proud to be a tamaraw graduate.. what year are you graduated? i have a friend working in IN faculty and secretary office ill let them know what's going on...
