First time poster, long time lurker. Actually just made an account to get this off of my chest.
I find so many posts on this site helpful and sometimes I just scroll while shaking my head. Why is it that when someone asks for advice or an answer, it is met with rude remarks and or "this post is so terribly written I can't even answer?"
People come on this site for help or advice, but there's always a select few who just have to hop on the post and defend their title as Allnurses' bully. If you don't have anything nice to say, keep scrolling for everyone's sake :)

Different strokes. If a post is so poorly written as to be barely comprehensible, then it's disrespectful to the community to expect a coherent reply.
She created another account, told everyone they were obnoxious, then came back on the original account and continued to discuss the issue.
How does one tell these things? IP tracking?
Anyhow, there's a huge mix of people with genuine questions, random folks trying to start trouble, and misunderstandings when the OP seems inbetween. I've seen users dishing out personal insults and getting lauded for "telling it like it is" and I've seen OPs whining because it burns too much when responders have the nerve to disagree with them. Sometimes it's funny to read and sometimes it just tees me off.

To answer your question: I didn't confirm it.
Yes, I even considered editing my post because I stated my inclination as fact and it is not.
Similar writing styles, similar tone, the one who called everyone obnoxious was making their first post ever "I'm a lurker who has been reading here a long time and I had to make an account and say...............". Other evidence.
But, it was most definitely just my opinion that it was someone trying to.....defend themselves a bit. I did not call out the person for it because I had nothing concrete really and, to be honest, I liked her. Would have been dreadful to have called her out and to have been wrong.
She didn't say "shame on you". She expressed her pain about how some people are rude on here.
It's a shame on you thread. Like countless others who also attempt to change posting behavior with a nice finger wag, it won't work. People are going to post the way they want to post unless they violate the TOS, in which case their post will be deleted and they will receive a warning from the Mods.
I'm an occasional poster and lurker.
I'm not the best with grammar and spelling but I do have to really wonder or scratch my head when some posts are very difficult to read and the poster is asking "did I do something wrong" "should I be fired" or "they are out to get me posts."
We have a good bit of non English speaking posters...those are recognizable and understandable but as professional nurses we should be able to express ourselves using clear and basic typed words.
The text speak doesn't bother me that much either.
I will still read the post and if I feel like I have something worthwhile to add, I normally will post to it.
You have made a negative generalization. You have NOT only seen negativity. There are thousands of posts educating and supporting our AN members. It is YOU that has chosen to only see the negativity.
Yep. We are more often supportive, I think. There are some curmudgeons, but they are in every walk of life. And, if the shoe doesn't fit, don't worry about trying to wear it. If it does, then figure out what needs to change. These young whippersnappers who dwell in the land of NETY and nobody sees things like I do which is the right way are often interesting, at the least, in their posts. Methinks some day, with growth and maturity, they'll sing a different tune. (sorry for all the metaphors....I'm in a metaphoric mood, I suppose....)

I like the poster who started another account and backed herself up, and then forgot she was 2 different people and replied as the same person. I think NurseLeigh or Chaos caught her. We reported her for being a sock puppet and the thread was moderated.

Sock puppet! I'm laughing cause you just reminded me of something from when I was a nursing student.
I'm going to make a thread about it even.

Strong work everyone, I think we are closer to solving the unsolvable problem after this comment thread.
