From a trusted source, this person actually told me that they look in the budget on the floor and told me that the bosses spend a lot of it on themselves. Is this illegal? Does this happen all the time. Are there dirty and greedy people healthcare???

Might be time to blow that whistle
But is it illegal?

Then "trusted source" should be the one to say something, not you. If you didn't discover it, stay out of it.
Yeah, I don't know why my source said that to me anyways, but I'm going to ask my source for more details and ask them if it's illegal or not of what they are doing.

..."on themselves"?? maybe your "source" means " on their own departments"? or their own supplies for their management needs and not necessarily for the needs of the rest of the department...??

"Spend a lot of the money on themselves". What, exactly, does that mean? That the nurse manager's salary is the highest salary of the entire department? Duh. Or that she spends money on office equipment? How did this "trusted source" become privy to the budget?
She just told me (and I don't know why) that the three main bosses in my our department spend a lot of money on food from the budget?

You've posted a couple threads recently about how overworked you are, and how you have too much work to do to be able to provide the level of care you would like to be able to provide to the clients you're assigned. Why don't you focus on doing the work you're assigned and not spend time or energy worrying about the unit's budget?

You're not a manager so you really have no idea how budgetary issues work. I'd let your "good source" go ahead and lose sleep over it if s/he wants, but I'd just MYOB and do what you were hired to do.
