how much do you pay on student loans per month

Published

I owe a massive amount in loans, 33,000 . I'm just curious to how much others pay in student loans ? My goal is to pay it off in 5-10 years. Seems impossible right now though.

$20,000 in subsidized loans for both degrees. I pay about $165 a month right now. Waiting for my DH to graduate so we can just knock em out sooner! Can. Not. Wait!!!

46k down from 80k+ in a little less than 3 years. Our combined income (me & partner) is 70k. We pay roughly $1200 a month towards the loans, but our minimums are about $350.

I worked as a CNA, then an LPN through school and paid for everything out of pocket. My final semester I took out a student loan of 5k, paid the minimum on it for a few years then used a chunk of change to pay the remainder. Debt free is a good feeling. You'll get there :)

Kudos to those of you paying off your loans willingly and quickly! Its no secret I'm not a fan of debt especially not if there are other ways such as working during school but I have to admire those of you working so hard now to pay down your student loans.

Hi! I was just wondering if anyone had any success with Nursing Loan Repayment routes such as "Nurse Corps"? I'm going to have about $20K when I graduate in a year and half (which isn't too bad), and while I'm capable of paying it off with OT and other resources, the husband and I would also love to save for a house, babies, etc. So I'm just looking for options and opinions! I do love Dave Ramsey and plan on doing the snowball technique. Also sorry if this comment was off topic!

Never had any loans. LPN (1977)& ADN/RN (1979)had BEOG grants (now they are Pell grants) at the CC. I think tuition back then was $400 per semester. Paid cash for my BSN at worked as agency nurse 24+ hours per week plus any extra shifts on winter break, took travel nurse jobs in summer. I remember one semester walking in with $1500.00 cash which was the entire tuition for the semester and paying it all off, had worked a lot of shifts over winter break. For MSN/FNP, used GI Bill (Montgomery Ch. 30) I had $10,000 to use and had a little less then $200 left over. Had 3 siblings with Bachelors (2 Electrical Engineering, one Accounting) none of them had any loans either.

I pay 120/month but try to pay $200 each pay day

Thought I replied. My loan is 120/ month and another loan that is deferred. Combined about 13k left. I try to pay around $400/month. Loans sucks. Hope to pay it off within the next 2 years. But let's see how that goes.

Two ADN degrees and I owe 3500.00 after paying for the past 7 years or so, but I have them payed off next tax return. ( They are on deferment right now because I am in school again).

I'm still dying to know why you have two ADN degrees! :)

I have ~80k for 2 BS degrees. I pay $1000 a month.

I have about $55k. My payments were ~$350/mo. That's on an extended repayment program the govt offers.

I'm back in school now, so payments are deferred. I think I should pay a minimum of ~$500 / mo or more once I start working again.
