Paying 185 dollars q 2 wks here for medical and dental..starting next month it will be be 230 q 2wks. How. Much is it in your neck of the woods?:crying2:

I pay almost $400/month for myself and a six year old. Neither one of us has any diagnosed health problems. Deductable, is $7000 for each of us. No dental or vision is included.

We are self employed and pay $775/month out of pocket for for medical coverage for a family of 4 which excludes maternity, mental health and substance abuse. No dental or vision, and our deductible is $5K per year. Prescriptions are not covered until we meet our deductible.

I hope this puts into perspective what the actual cost of insurance is, as opposed to the employee cost when an employer contributes to premiums.

my husband is covered at no charge as the policyholder, while the charge per month for me is $230. that includes rx, outpatient, inpatient care, lab, x-rays, mammograms, pretty much whatever we need.

if necessary, we can self refer. we pay 10% if out of plan specialist. we also have a fsa card, which

pays for co-pays, rx co-pays, glasses, diabetic socks etc., odds and ends the plan doesn't cover. until obama's health plan, we could use up whatever was left of the fsa acct. money at the end of the fiscal year on bandaids, neosporin, tylenol etc., and now we can't, which is a pain.

Mine is something like $20-$30 per pay for just me; that includes dental, vision, and term life insurance. No copay for doctor visits, $25 for ER visit if not admitted, nothing if admitted, and $2 for prescriptions.

I pay $226/month w/ a $500 deductable for me. This includes vision and dental. 2 wellness checkups and 1 pap plus mamo/year for free. Dr. visits are $25 and $40 for specialist. Rx copay is $7 except the Detrol LA which is $55.

$95/wk medical/rx for family of 4, another 10/week for dental. FIVE THOUSAND dollar deductible. Wellness/routine preventitives are paid in full. Other than that its usually all out of pocket for me. We do have a HSA that my company puts money into for employees over the year. What it comes to per year IF you meet that $5k would be approx 2500 paid by you, the other 2500 would be in the HSA.

Every time i read about the cost of insurance in the US I'm amazed by how many of you think universal healthcare would be more expensive.

I'm thinking about taking out private health cover; at the moment, because I don't have it and I earn over the threshhold, I pay 2.5% of my taxable income in Medicare levies, which is about $975 for the 2010/2011 year (or $81/month). PBS-approved prescription meds are no more than $34.20 ($5.60 for concession card holders), with an annual cap of $1,317.20 ($336 concession) after which the concession rate is charged - prescription medications are free to concession card holders after the cap's reached.

I'm about $100 a month for my family with dental, no deductable, no co-insurance, $7 co-pay on meds and $20 copay for office visits as long as it's done within my hospital system.

I'm thinking about going to another company as a contractor to my current system. They pay 90% of my premium, I am responsible for 100% of my family. That will run me somewhere in the neighborhood of $1300 per month, which is more than my current mortgage. We're still negotiating as a result.

I pay nothing for health insurance, because I don't have any. Can't afford it, so me and my family go without. Hopefully nothing bad ever happens.

We pay 375 a month for the family plan. Dental runs another 30 or so a month and vision 14. Insurance has a 500 per person deductable and family out of pocket is 3500. Vision covers frames every 2 with lens every year. Dental 100% on cleaning etc and 50/60 on crowns/r. canals. 80% on fillings. Scripts are 10,20,40 tiered. office copay a percentage of the visit. Average is 15 and 40 for specialists.
