I know its personal but I am just curious, of course you don't have to answer it but for those of you who don't mind, answer please, thanks!
CNA/RN/LPN/PA/APN/fulltime/parttime/casual whatever your profession is, just state it and share :)
One employer $18/hr, other employer $19/hr, when working. Highest wage in past: $26/hr. When schedule permits will be looking for employer with better pay; yet, am still happy to have a job; although $18/hr is less than I was making 8 yrs ago, it beats nothing per hour. LVN, variable hours per week depending on case load.
Okay, now we work 37.5 per week. What number would I use for that? I am still embarassingly poor in math skills. I REALLY appreciate this!
The easiers way to compute this is the following:
Yearly salary / 26
Take this number and divide by 80 (or divide by the number of hours you work every two weeks 75)
This works if you get paid every two weeks
I'm an LPN working PRN at a Metro Atlanta hospital. My hours are from 7p-7am. Weeknights, the rate is $31.50/hr; weekend nights are $34.00/hr; holidays are time and 1/2; on-call pay is $2.50/hr; when cancelled: ZILCH!!! This is with no benefits whatsoever! Downtime (when census is low), at one point this past late-summer/early-fall, left me making about a grand for the ENTIRE MONTH on a couple of occasions; hence my enrollment in college for the ASN/ADN. Once completed, I'm on the first flight outta here! Travel nursing for me!
You readers are not paying attention: The question is how much do YOU make per hour/year?. My assumption is that if you are missing this question, your the same nurses that miss orders, miss drip rates, etc. I am a Critical Care-Cardiac RN from Phoenix, Arizona. I make $35.68 per hour and my facility pays double time for shifts beyond the required 3 per week.

You should do a topic titled "Allnurses.com 2009 Salary Survey" and ask the mods to make it sticky. Ask the respondents to politely avoid side conversations and save comments for another thread as you want it to be a straight salary survey.(and put that part in bold) This could be helpful for not only new nurses and students but experienced nurses as well who may want to switch jobs. OH and put a time limit on it so you can close the survey. If another people answer we can condense the results with average rates of pay based on work status, degree etc. I can help you with it if you get enough answers. Oh and give a standad format for response like below:
Rate of pay:
FT/PT/PRN/Agency:
Bennies?
RN/LPN/CNA/NP/etc.:
Degree:
Specialty/Work Area:
Work environment(Hospital, LTC, Office, etc):
Certifications?:
Years of experience:
Work hours/days etc.
Shift and weekend diff?
Rural/Urban/Suburbs:
