apparently, ive been waiting for other people to start a support group for may nclex takers.....but no....so here i am.....
im taking my nclex on the 7th of may...hopefully, i pass this time. im tired of living a non-RN life......
after replying to all the posts here this afternoon..i went to our mailbox and found the big envelope. yep..i tried to see if it's thick like the one i received 4months ago (my 1st take). then i opened it..sorry guys, i guess i'll be the one to break the may momentum..i failed. i failed again for my second take. i had 265 questions with all near the passing standard on my 1st take. and today..my result on my second take is the same with all the near passing standard. i don't really get it! honestly, it didn't even help me, even a hint on which part is my weakness and what would i do improve and pass this test. when i took the test this second time, i feel okay after the test, unlike on my first take. this time i got more sata's, prioritization..i just don't get it! why not even one part of the test i could get "above the passing standard"..
i'm so sorry to hear your news:crying2: i know it's hard not to get discouraged when you fail, but let me tell you... there is no exam in the world that define you as a person. from our conversations i know that you are kind and caring - those qualities are more important for the nurse then all the knowledge in the world. all exams are lotteries in a way... you are near the passing standards - that means you are almost there. one more try - and you'll get the license:up: i wish you luck. please, don't be hard on yourself - have some rest and get some pampering. you need it now!
thanks guys..im planning to take it again but probably not sooner. maybe i'll start reviewing by the end of june. i'll be on training for my work..so i don't think i'll have time this coming week(s). im planning to take suzanne's first tip on my third attempt for the nclex-rn. but i had a few questions. i had here saunder's 3rd ed.,but im planning to buy the latest 4th edition. you think it'll be a good idea? i really wanted to start fresh anew..and this coming week..motivate myself and set my esteem to the highest. may nclex and "waiting-stress-result" test takers--my prayers are with you. always.:) god bless future rn's and rn's..:typing

yes! i used the 4th edition and i'm glad that i bought it because it has alternate type questions as well as the rationales were very simple to understand:)
I actually think that a new book is a good idea even though the books are almost the same in content. The new book is in color with pictures. It will be a fresh start for your mind-give you a psychological boost. Perhaps some other book as well. Some here really recommended "Exam Cram" Also, there are books that just work with the new type of questions. I think any will be of help. Good luck! :)
Wow--6 pages in one day !!
i went out of town , to visit my mother (3 hours south of where i live , in Los Angelos)--im all caught up now.
LETJACKSON--(and others) --i am SO sorry to hear that you did not pass this time (i am not going to use the word fail--because i do not believe anyone who does not pass the NCLEX is a failure by anymeans)
I beleive that you guys know enough content, GWAFUH-LETJACKSON--focus on test taking strategies--
If i had failed this last time , like i thought i did--i was going to enroll in kaplan--kaplan is the only course that doesnt go over conent review-rather theyfocus on "test strategy"--for me, i felt thats all i needed to get over that "hump" was a few more tips on beating this test
not tips like MOST review courses offer like "look for key words like NEVER, and ALL or look for the answer thatr is different" but KAPLAN to teach me HOW to think like the NCLEX.-
..i KNOW itshard right now, but you have to keep going-you WILL pass this test--!!!
you are not and never will be failure !! -just think, you are only X amount of questions away from the goal.--
you are not the first person in your situation
you will not be the last
and you are never alone in this place.
this test does NOT define you as a person or nurse.
you WILL pass thgis test.

sorry to hear this. please think about trying suzanne's plan, it does work and you only need the one book. i passed on my 3rd attempt and had just found saunders and preferred it to all the others i tried. mind you this was just before suzanne did her program :)
