apparently, ive been waiting for other people to start a support group for may nclex takers.....but no....so here i am.....
im taking my nclex on the 7th of may...hopefully, i pass this time. im tired of living a non-RN life......
i’m also a may nclex-rn test taker (2nd time) with 75q’s. i took my exam on the 12th of may (california board). when i went out of the testing room, it was a mixed feeling . kind of sad
and fear that i might be a failure again as i have encountered a lot of sata which i honestly haven’t given a lot of attention to it during my review. i have 2 calculations (mg/kg/dose) which i knew for sure the other one was wrong as i just guess the answer. pharma on my exam were all side effects and health teaching, which i managed to answer with 35% doubt. so i wasn’t really sure if i pass the exam. :lol_hitti
other way, i also felt relief as after the exam …i got to rest my brain, eyes, ears away from the books and my mp3 review. on top of everything, right after my exam we went to watched the ironman as i missed to watch it on the first showing…why???... as i was stuck :yldhdbng: reviewing the nclex. it’s true… i feel like i have no life that time…but for sure if you really want it…with dedication, a lot of prayers coming from the heart :redbeathe and being strict with your study habits, in return the success is just within your reach.:gtch: as now…i can proudly say and place the initial rn right after my name. :prdnrs: ‘got my result after 12 days. thank you ever so much to everyone here and to :redbeathesuzanne:redbeathe as i followed here advice too…
:lttang:for those who are taking the exam soon my prayers and goodluck to you all.
:pntrghi: formula of my own success: :pntlft: (strict 2 months review at home…got no chance to enroll to a classroom type of review as got no money)
prayers before i start my review
follow :heartbeatsuzanne’s advice :heartbeat
saunders (book and cd q’s)
kaplan’s strategies and q’banks
feuer audio review (really helps me a lot, if my eyes are already tired…then i listened to this)
nclex cd q’s by springhouse
nclex-rn review card by mosby
ncsbn (the way the questions delivered in nclex quite... nearly the same)
nclex-rn notes core review & exam prep (pocket guide) by fadavis (really handy as i can carry it with me everywhere)
of course…the updates from allnurses.com
try to answer atleast 100 q’s a day
youtube (why???...i’ve watched the ecg interpretation and the cpr here)
:monkeydance:oopss...don’t forget to exercise even just a stationary jog and stretching to have a good circulation in your brain and drink plenty of water
and….please give your brain a break too. (i don't mean by this...hahahaha!!!)
it seems that the board is throwing a lot of sata type of question…so better prepare yourself on this.
goodluck again and thanks everyone. i’m happy to move on to another step…doesn’t end here right?!:anbd:.....:grad:

usually once people have passed they tend to move on and dont post as much in this forum as this is very much in support of studying and passing nclex. you could always start a thread in the 1st year of nursing forum if it is just to keep in touch
Good Morning,
I'm sorry for not posting the last couple days. I took an advise of a friend to take my mind off the NCLEX RN and promised not read or write about the it.
Just to refresh, I took my 1st test 5/12 and stopped at 75 and feel unsure if I passed or failed. I've been waiting now for 10 business days and not seen my name on the California BRN website. As a result I now believe that I failed and would like to start STUDYNG! again.
So on Friday 5/23 I called the BRN and was able to speak with my "evaluator". I have my doubts as to her excuse, however, she told me that she was not able to tell me my results over the phone and the reason for the delay was that she did not have my transcripts from school. Without it she cannot process my test results.
So I called the dean of nursing at my school. To make this short, and with a lot of phone calls, it turned out that all of my stuff was sent to the boards (the 1st time) and that the admissions office will resend my transcripts.
Im' so mad. The board had no intention of contacting me of this error. I don't believe them. This is probably their way of saying "you failed", "wait for the letter", "I don't want tell you the bad news over the phone".
Has anyone experienced what I'm going through?
Hi everybody and congrats who passed. I took my test on Friday with 76 qs.
This morning (Sunday) I went to pearsonvue and the result was ready already. I paid for the service and here it is ……I PASSED.
Thank you this forum especially April group. I was so nervous that I could not participate much in May group. Sorry guys.
As guys from April group told already, please focus on infection control, prioritizing, and watch for grams and oz when doing math.
I did Sounders CD 4-th edition about 85-140 qs a day, read my notes several times, and did Mosby (about 2/3 of it, what a great book, I was so glad that I was told to buy it), and a lot of prayers.
I would say that the test was user friendly. I did not feel like they want to trick me or give me a hard time. But it was not easy ether. I wish everybody good luck.
