I am in need of some new mantras to get me through stressful times...

Share your best mantras here:

My favorite is, "When we are at our very worst, therein lies the unique opportunity to respond with our very best." (Or for short, "At our worst, we find our best.").

Specializes in LTC, assisted living, med-surg, psych.

"This, too, shall pass."

Don't sweat the small stuff!

Not a motivational/uplifting one, but it's got me through some (ahhhem....)moments ...

"I am 100% washable" :)

Ladies and gents please take my advice

Just drop your drawers

And slide on the ice.

Specializes in hospice.

Only X hours to go..... ;)

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming. ..

Specializes in HH, Peds, Rehab, Clinical.

Life is too short. And then I fill in the blank. "life is too short to wrestle with these sterile gloves, get a new packet", "life is too short to worry about a fruit or veggie at every meal, go ahead and have Cheerios for supper" You get the idea

The grass is greener where you water it.

Specializes in Peds PACU & Peds Psych.

"Don't do what you want. Do what you don't want. Do what you've been trained not to want. Do what scares you the most."

This helps me a lot when I'm in a situation that feels uncomfortable, stressful, or maybe just downright gross. It's a reminder to myself that I'm pushing my boundaries and, in turn, becoming a stronger person.

Specializes in MCH,NICU,NNsy,Educ,Village Nursing.

"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." I have had lots of opportunities through the years to prove that one. Also, "Weeellllll, it could be a lot worse."
