I am in need of some new mantras to get me through stressful times...

"Could be worse, could be raining"

"I love my job, I love my job, I love my job..." Over and over and over until I've calmed down hahahahahahaha.

Good thread; I really like these mantra ideas.

the Sweet Brown quote that I first heard here: ain't nobody got time for that. There's a funny video on you tube.

"Jesus died for him too". Brings me back to we all have shortcomings and faults, just not always on display.

I have also used "I love my job" and "this too shall pass". But not on enema days, lol.

Specializes in Family Practice, Mental Health.

“Not my Circus, not my monkeys......."

This too, shall pass. My favorite.

Specializes in M/S, pedi.

"I cannot change other people, I can only change my response to them".

I hate my job, I will retire in 3 months, I will never take care of anyone again.

Specializes in Emergency room, Neurosurgery ICU.

"just breathe, everything beyond that is an option"

When I was newbie, I had this horrible senior nurse who was notorious for her unfair dividing up of patients. Lucky me, for almost two months I was always paired with her in the beginning. There was one time, I had 2 post op patients direct from the O.R., 1 intubated patient and another scheduled for surgery in the morning with pending clearances from various services I had to follow up and additional 4 patients from level one to two.

So my mantra: "I've been throughh worse."

Specializes in Maternity.

"Never say the S word or the Q word"
