I just renewed my MA license online, still got a physical copy in the mail about 4 weeks later. It is true that most employers check online, but I would contact BON if it doesn't come within the next two weeks. It is nice to have it in hand. Congratulations!
  2. I have seen, in several places, the use of the word "prolly" for probably and it drives me nutty.
  3. I love my wonderwink scrubs, I wear plus size and had to go up 2 sizes in greys for the tops to fit comfortably. But wonderwink fit true to size, yet still flattering on curves.
  4. I love med-surg! I love the variety of patients, an appy, a lap chole, diverticulitis, COPD and asthma all in one shift. You will learn so much in med-surg. Good luck!
  5. Cafeteria: "we are out of coffee!"
  6. My husband thinks I'm nuts for watching this show...I'm also addicted to intervention the tv show too. Perhaps addicted is the incorrect term. 😱
  7. One nursing instructor told the class that a Foley catheter was better than bladder scan, related to the patient having to down to ultrasound for this procedure. I informed her that they are readily available in the hospital and she told the class I was very wrong. This was 2012 or so. Mind you she hadn't been in a hospital setting as a nurse in a long time.
  8. 1. 1 2. MA 3. MA
  9. I recently had a small surgery and went back after 3 weeks, two weeks would have had me doubting what I could physically do. Three was perfect. I work med/surg primarily.
  10. Yogurt, cheese sticks, pretzels and easy packable fruit, bananas, oranges and apples are perfect to go snacks for me. Already packaged! I second the boiled eggs, I cook a bunch of them at once and they are always in the fridge ready to go.
  11. I too get crazy restless legs with benadryl, but it was better my itchy skin rash.
  12. Not true, the only ATI exam I did not get a level three in was pharm, and I was only one question away from that one too. I did every practice exam and read the rationales for each answer, even the correct ones and did each exam until I could get 100%. I did these on the couch while watching TV as well. I say this because I don't want you to stress out, but do what you can, when you can. You can do this!
  13. Had a pt recently who may have had a stroke at home and was not caught (baseline sluggish, prev strokes)until Neuro saw her and she was yawning and the MD said excessive yawning can be a sign in the nonverbal pts.
  14. I did the red cross CNA over 20 years ago and it was worth it. I did one year in LTC and then moved to a hospital. I can't recommend ARC enough.
  15. I bought the raspberry one and have had no issues with stains.
