What are your favorite meals/snacks for work?
Thank you so much!!! I am absolutely inspired to snack healthy. The last few days at work I ate smaller snacks more often during the shift and felt so much better at the end. I really appreciate the healthy ideas!

What are your favorite meals/snacks for work?
Hi friends! I am a relatively new nurse. Now that I'm starting to get my feet under me at work, I'm turning my attention toward being more healthy. It's hard - sometimes I can't eat until 11 hrs into my shift and then I pig out when I'm home. I want to start packing multiple clean and healthy snacks/meals that I can eat throughout my shift....instead of the cookies and candy that's always lurking around the breakroom! So I'd love to know - what clean, healthy filling snacks and meals work for you? Also what is a good packable breakfast I could have to keep me filled up in the morning? Thank you!!

Senior Practicum: Telemetry vs ICU?
Thanks for the advice!

Senior Practicum: Telemetry vs ICU?
Can I ask for advice? The time has come for me to select my senior practicum and I have a choice between telemetry and ICU. It is my goal to be an ER nurse, even as a new grad if possible! I really WANT to choose the telemetry floor because I enjoy learning about the cardiovascular system, I'm fairly comfortable with those meds, and it would be good EKG practice. However, I know the ICU would look amazing on my resume and I would probably experience a lot there. My priority is to be where I can practice the most skills, and where I can be most prepared for the ED. Any advice for me?? Thank you!! :)

How to get clinical/skills experience withouth working
Hello! I am making a career change into nursing. I did my pre-reqs quickly, and am now in the midst of an accelerated BSN program. Because of this, I didn't have time to get my CNA license, and I don't have time to work while in school. My greatest insecurity is my lack of health-care experience. I'm so afraid that when I begin work I'll be miles behind where I should be because of a lack of familiarity with the hospital in general. I am working hard in clinicals to practice all the skills I can. I also volunteer in a local ED, and spent a shift shadowing a nurse which was awesome. But I still feel really anxious to practice skills - everything from making beds to NG tubes. Does anyone have advice about ways to practice skills, outside of volunteering/clinicals/work? Thank you!! :) - J
