Filipino NCLEX Passer (Florida) for VISA SCREEN
nursedexie, thank you so much for your response. I am in contact with CGFNS but they are so frustrating because it's like one email=one answer. Anyway, how about for you? Have you ironed out your Visa Screen application and requirements? Congratulations on getting the PassportUSA. Were you able to figure out with regards to the bank draft? I remember I was going to pay for something thru a bank draft also. It was confusing and I think I asked at the postal office but then just ended up using a credit card. I hope it goes well for you.

Surplus of Nurses - should I think twice?
I wholly agree with rnforforty, when I was assigned at medical-surgical ward, even at the age of 26 I felt like a senior citizen after a 12 hour shift that was more like 16 to 18 hours. With patient ratios of one nurse to anywhere from 9-13 patients. My legs would cramp and even the relatively expensive good shoes I bought couldn't protect my feet from pain and those compression stockings to help with circulation still did not prevent my many veins on my feet now..

Surplus of Nurses - should I think twice?
With this issue of shortage and such, I do agree with DoGoodThenGo that articles can go either way, but what about other avenues for nurses other than the traditional hospital jobs? To my understanding, there are utilization management nurses or in the telehealth. Doesn't this create new opportunities as well and is an emerging area?

Filipino NCLEX Passer (Florida) for VISA SCREEN
Hi nursedexie, I am also a Philippine nurse that passed the NCLEX-RN and am trying to understand the Visa Screen. I also emailed CGFNS to ask with regards to the documents we already sent for the CES in relation to the application for VISA SCREEN. Good for you your CES has not expired yet. As for me,my CES expired already and I inquired about their service of ESAVED documents. If I avail of the ESAVED, will those documents (not the CES as it already expired) can still be used for the VISA SCREEN as they are one and the same. Another thing for me is unfortunately my school closed and I'm uncertain how to accomplish the forms now in the event that ESAVing my documents will not be valid for VISA SCREEN. So far I sent two inquiries to CGFNS, but all they answered was that I can avail of the ESAVED but will not extend validity of my CES and did not answer my other question pertaining to if the documents can be used for VISA SCREEN as well. It has been very frustrating with CGFNS as I clearly stated my queries with them and answer me partially. I'd just appreciate a straight forward answer. It's like one email, one question, one answer for them w/c I do not understand. Would you kindly keep us posted here on your progress and also the process please? I will also let you know as soon as CGFNS gives me a response. I'd post my question and their response, but I am unsure if that will violate any rules both here and for CGFNS. Many thanks and hope we can get through the process smoothly.

NCLEX-RN application, New Mexico
Good day everyone, kindly advise me w/ regards to my application for NCLEX-RN please. I am an internationally educated nurse applying to take the NCLEX RN. I already submitted all of the requirements and application to the NM BON, and a day after they received it, they sent me an email, stating that " file is now complete with the NM Board of Nursing and you need to register with Pearson Vue for the NCLEX RN Exam. Please notify the Board by responding to this email when your registration is complete". To my understanding, once they receive everything, 3-4mos they will assess my documents and then send me an eligibility letter, then register AND pay at pearson vue then get the ATT that is only valid for 90 days. I registered w/ Pearson & responded to NM BON's email, confirming if this is already my eligibility letter, and do I already have to pay & such. They sent me email " informing you that you completed everything in order to test"; "Any questions regarding the exam or the payment your provide PearsonVue to test, questions will need to be referred to them. Your file with NM BON with expire 1-/--/20-- and will have to reapply all over again if you do not pass before this date" I would like to clarify that I can now proceed w/ payment w/ Pearson? Is the eligibility letter that email stating that my file is now complete??? Sincerest thanks to anyone who will advice, it is very much appreciated.. I would just like to be sure and seek advice from you guys who are familiar w/ this than me or went through also the same procedure.

Desperately need guidance re NCLEX-RN validity of eligibility
Thank you so much for your response! If I may, does this mean that I may have approximately 2-5 years to register for pearson vue and pay the fee and after that obtain the ATT that only has 90 days until expired? Below is information I copied from the website of New Mexico BON: "2. Register and pay $200 to Pearson VUE via theInternet or telephone.§ Payment via MasterCard, Visa or AmericanExpress will be accepted. You must be made eligible by the board ofnursing (see Step 4) within 365 days of yourregistration and payment." "4.Board of nursing makes you eligible in thePearson VUE system." If my understanding of number 2 is correct, 365 days is kind of the deadline for the BON to give an applicant their eligibility right? It is not stating that the eligibility is for 365 days? Thank you again for being patient.

Desperately need guidance re NCLEX-RN validity of eligibility
Good day fellow RN's! Kindly shed some light on a dilemma I am having. I am a foreign graduate nurse applying to take NCLEX-RN in New Mexico. My CES from CGFNS was just sent 4 days ago to the BON. I have been reading other posts&NM BON site, but forgive me am still confused&unclear about the duration of the validity of the eligibility. Once eligibility is issued, how long is it valid for? The thing is I need to extend the duration of my application as I have a great opportunity to work abroad in approximately 2-4 mos and can take a vacation after approx. a year of being there. I would highly appreciate any advice and guidance that you may impart. Taking that overseas job is also a requirement for me to be able to qualify to be processed with a recruitment agency for the U.S. while processing my NCLEX application. Thank you for taking the time in reading this and being patient with me.

I don't quite know how I can explain that with my three years working experience, i was able to handle diverse patients from all walks of life. How can i also properly convey that I have come far from being a fresh graduate and improved myself professionally? Thank you so much for the help on the previous posts, its just i would like for someone to read this over and comment on where I can improve this more. Thank you again!

Mantra?... Whats yours??...
When I was newbie, I had this horrible senior nurse who was notorious for her unfair dividing up of patients. Lucky me, for almost two months I was always paired with her in the beginning. There was one time, I had 2 post op patients direct from the O.R., 1 intubated patient and another scheduled for surgery in the morning with pending clearances from various services I had to follow up and additional 4 patients from level one to two. So my mantra: "I've been throughh worse."

Please help...how to be an immigrant nurse in canada
Thank you again for your help! I am finding all this overwhelming and have trouble digesting all the facts... We actually have agencies here that can assist when applying for NCLEX, for a price that is. So my credentials would first be assessed prior to be able to take the exam..

Please help...how to be an immigrant nurse in canada
Good day! First of all, I'd like to thank whoever is reading this, taking the time and It would be much appreciated if someone can please enlighten me. First a little background,I graduated in an asian country last 2008 and had my RN license last March 2009. After that I underwent trainings in a government hospital as no one was hiring a newly graduated nurse. I got employed last July 2011 in a specialty tertiary government hospital and stayed there until August 2014. Now I'm hoping to pursue a career being an RN in Manitoba Canada where my uncle is also an immigrant. We're planning for me to be a provincial nominee like them, and as of now IELTS is one of the exams required. To the best of my understanding, it's either I enroll in a bridging program once I get there or take this supposed "challenge" exam so I may practice nursing. Then I talked with a NCLEX reviewer saying that NCLEX will also be needed in Canada? Can someone kindly shed light on this,I've been having trouble sifting through the information on the web and am confused about this supposed "challenge" exam. Thank you so much and have a good day.
