LPN Tuition-how much did you pay?

Published

Hi there,

I've just started my LPN program in a moderately populated town. The total cost for me was $13,500. (books, labs, uniforms....) (I didn't get any loans, saved over the years.....) Were your fees comparible? I feel like it was quite expensive for a 2 1/2 year program.

Side note, apparently we'll be taught to run IV lines.....something new added to the course i believe...

With everything Out of pocket. About 9,000.00 11 months program

Hello, just thought I would chime in on this issue, my tuition for a local vocational school was 4,000, the 1st semester books cost 300.00 and then the background check and uniforms (UGH!,UGLY) It will be worth it, but what I find interesting in reading this thread is that some are 2 year and mine is a 12 month full time start Sept anf end in August, is anyone else doing this particular schedule? If so how are you coping, I am finding it tough, but doing ok.

Holly27, so sorry I see I scrolled past your last post, you are taking the 11-12 month course as well. How are you handling the 2 day clinical and 3 day class with 3 tests a week? When I first started checking in to the school I originally wanted the 2 year evening program but they did not have enough students to have a class. Apparently this is the 2nd year in a row

I wish I would find one within this range of price in Portland (OR). We have the Community Colleges around here that are not expensive... but the waiting list can go up to 2 years!!

Was part of the first graduating class at a technical school in Mass(6/06) Tuition 12,000...Books 500...Uniforms...100.

Just found out that tuition for in district students is 3500...

Oh well...got the education...now just need a job!

Wow - $13,000 - that is high. I attend a program through a community college in Sherman, Texas - about 50 miles north of Dallas, books and tuition is roughly $2,300 and the program is 10.5 months long - fall, spring and a 6 week summer semester. We will also be taught IV's in the spring semester.

i am in school now in ohio and it was 20,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$21000 in CT for evening program

Oh my goodness,Ohio nursing students are getting ripped off big time then! The LPN programs in my area range from $8800 to $23,000

Wow,I took the LPN program in high school-which the school district paid for most of everything: I probably only spent

Wow you guys got off pretty cheap things are alot different in Indiana.

It goes like this. (there are only 3 place LPN schools in Indianapolis so you have to pick one)

Community college with wait list and a bunch of BS before you get in $5000 not including uniforms or books

LPN school/technical center (not really hard to get into or a long wait list) $9000 including uniforms not books

Private college (just started offering LPN in Sept/06) No wait at all first one to pass the test in and pay you're in (you could very well start 3 or 4 weeks after you attend an info session) $18,500 yes that is what I said $18,500

Alot of people are willing to pay that $18,500 after having the community college experience ( it's really bad) and the technical center is convenient for everyone

I paid $22,000 sure as hell wasn't all worth that much..and for 18 months..here in california. but oh well..its already been spilled.

I just graduated from a 12 mos course in Calif. that was 18,000. It's gone up to 21,000. Everything was included in that cost.

My only other choice close to where I live was the community college but with a 36 mos. wait list (2 18mos programs). And they only accept 40 students each class. I couldn't wait because I have boys going into college. Luckily we had the money to do it but most of the younger students had to take out loans.
