LPN Tuition-how much did you pay?

Hi there,

I've just started my LPN program in a moderately populated town. The total cost for me was $13,500. (books, labs, uniforms....) (I didn't get any loans, saved over the years.....) Were your fees comparible? I feel like it was quite expensive for a 2 1/2 year program.

Side note, apparently we'll be taught to run IV lines.....something new added to the course i believe...

Specializes in psych nursing.

I paid about $6,000 all together.

Specializes in Geriatrics.

Pay definitely depends on whether it's a private school or community college. I'm applying to LPN school this year, and the school that I want to attend (my first choice) is only $6,000, which is pretty cheap around here.

I payed $20,000 and thats after i got a $7000 scholarship. California has huge waits list so private colleges can get away with robbing us dry. I did all prereqs for RN and then my college froze the program for 2yrs. when i tried to go to other colleges not all of my classes would transfer and then on top of that i would be placed on a wait list once again. Thats how i ended up paying so much money for a LVN. Now i can work and bridge into the 2nd year of RN and get paid waiting.:uhoh3:

21,000 private college too, 12 months, 6 hour days. b.c..

i heard if you work in a small town for every year you can get your loan forginivn by 1/3, every year.

Specializes in Med/Surg, LTC/Geriatric.

25, 000 private college..

here in Los Angeles private school i paid 25,000 for 12 month program

booo!!!....lol

My goodness! 13,000 is nothing! I live here in Orange County, CA. I attended 1yr private college in San Bernardino, about an hour away. Nearly all the schools here in so cali are now 20-25,000. That includes books, uniforms, tuitions, equipment, etc. 1yr for full time and 18mo for part time. Good luck in your nursing career!

$17500 in Los Angeles. private college. graduating this December.

10 month program, upstate NY, Marion S. Whelan, $4700. Paid in full by local grant, but applied for loan anyway to pay off some monthly bills, as I'm cutting back hours at work.

I Know This Post Is A Little Old, But Would Like To Know The Name Of The Community College You Attended. Also, Did You Take All Your Basics (pre-req) Before You Were Accepted Into The Program?

Specializes in all.
