I would say getting your BSN helps but I've know people with BSN's have had to wait a year before getting into hospitals.

How many patients do you have? You can still apply to other jobs while working at this one. Typically most rehab/sniff have high patient ratios.

Yes, especially with psych meds..most of them cause constipation.

I would hate to say but yes I have declined an order. We had a visiting MD come to our small psych facility who would write the most ridiculous orders.This gentleman once ordered an 800 calorie diet for one of insulin dependent diabetics. My favorites were always the ones that were written for psych drugs when he was not the psychiatrist.

You might be able to fine something. It frustrating when experience say 3-5 year perferred.

My favorite since I work in a psych facility, "Wow, you must be really scared." Yes, I work with all the crazy ax murderers (note the sarcasm).

Be flexible and realistic. Try other places other then hospitals, LTC, psych facilities, or corrections. I know some are less then desirable or you can always relocate.

9-10 week orientation does not seem very long. My friend went to a Critical Care area and had a 16 week orientation. Be careful and make sure they have a supportive environment and don't be afraid to ask for help.

I think you'll be fine. Most cats don't want to be around people who don't like them. Sorry, that you have had such a bad experiences with cats. They are pretty harmless. I've had over eight cats over the years.
