Perhaps because I don't mind agreeing to disagree but something I really enjoy here are the times when someone I previously thought was a dope says something I think is smart and they are moved from my imaginary dope to my imaginary sharp list. :)
Throughout my life I strive to keep an open mind so I don't miss something profound. There are some people here I have "known" for years, respect and think I would like to work with and might even enjoy them as a friend. There are others who I wonder how they manage to tie their shoes this morning let alone pass NCLEX but again I continue to keep an open mind and very often I am pleasantly surprised.
Do you change favorite posters here or are you consistent with who you appreciate and who you aren't so thrilled with? Does anyone block members? My curiosity would never allow that, lol.
Speaking of Esme any updates???
She's making slow progress. We all miss Esme.
Speaking of blocking (placing member on your ignore list) ... I had to do that once and left member on ignore for about a year. And, believe me as Staff member, that was hard.
When removing, I realized that the member had not changed, but I had. I could read and get a better feel for the member both emotionally and intellectually.
If anyone wants to and/or cannot remember how, to place a member on ignore (block) ... here's how:
Click on your user ID name in the far upper right of any page and select Dashboard.
On the next page click on the green button labeled CLICK HERE TO VIEW ALL YOUR ACCOUNT OPTIONS. In the drop down menu, scroll down to select Ignore List. Enter the member(s) name and then click, add member.
Sometimes placing on ignore for a while (and, NOT peeking), saves squeezing your coronary arteries and saves money on TUMS.
:)
Well, I'll say the opposite and I LIKE you!I do like that I was "allowed" to join the COB society...add me as one who enjoys any COB post.

I enjoy thoughtful, informative and honest posts from The Commuter.
There are people that have broken the fourth wall and have reached out to me...it's a humbling experience because what I post is how I think and respond; I'm not a persona, and my siggy line is what I truly take to heart, which wakes it no reason to block people, and only makes me "like" a post, even if I disagree with it.
I want to be a COB, but I'm too gooey on the inside.
I'm not going to even pretend that I don't roll my eyes at the computer screen as I read some of the text found on AN. You can sense the condescending tone with every word that is being read from some of the members here.
Have you guys ever played the guessing game? For example, a new thread is created and depending on topic I sometime guess which member(s) will respond. My favorite is the NETY threads, I like to call some of the responders the usual suspects. Those are the responders that vehemently deny all aspect of NETY, and has very sharp words reserved for those that dare to challenge them. LOL
Anywho, a special shout-out to Esme12 and TheCommuter, those two are the bomb.com :) and are my favorite posters. They make their opinions known w/o telling other posters how wrong they are in the process.
Read a lot more than I respond to on the yellow side. Like to read the specialties, etc., just because I find things out of my realm interesting and like learning about new things. Also appreciate that I am closer to retirement than just starting out!
I am a frequent poster, much of the time as comic relief; I spend more time over on the blue side when things are hopping.
Do not care for most of the political-type posts, as it swiftly turns in to me vs you (particularly party affiliations) slashing and snarking put downs. That gets pretty tedious after a while.
Never have blocked or ignored anyone. I either read and then roll my eyes, or unsubscribe from a thread when I think everything that could possibly be said has been said.
I am definitely an AN addict, and I enjoy many more posters than I could possibly list here. SALUTE to you all!

Oh, most of us are really softies on the inside. I work on my innersoftie layer with lots of tapioca and jelly doughnuts.
To be a COB: Copy the siggy line and paste it in yours. See, wasn't that easy?
At the party, we'll be the old ones cackling in the corner.
