is 25-30 too late to want to pursue a nursing degree?

I'm curious. I'm 22 but I'm struggling in anatomy and really don't know what else to do. I feel like maybe if I work a little bit and save up my money I can come back at another time and go back to school. I thought about becoming a cna?

I'll be 30 next weekend and will be starting my second semester of an ADN program in Janurary. I thought I was too old too, but honestly I'm not! There are people in thier late 40's just starting in my class! I plan to take my degree as far as I can! no matter how long it takes I will get to my finish line! :)

I completed LPN school at 25 and I'll complete my BSN at 29. It is certainly not too old :-)

I didn't decide to go back until I was 27. I'll graduate just a couple months after I turn 31. No time like the present. We have many people in their late 30s and 40s in our class and two students in their 50s. It's never too late to go after a dream!!

25-30 is not bad at all. A lot of people in my classes are around that age range.

Did age hinder you in finding a job?

Me? Not at all. A lot of new grads are in their 30s and even 40s.

LOL- maybe age is hindering my thought process because I see I already answered this thread (a couple years ago!)

I was 34 when I became an Lvn. We have nurses who are in early 20s thru 60+ at my job. I don't think you are any older than avg.

Quite frankly, no. I don't think the age really matters the most. Age is just a small detail within a really big picture, namely your happiness and goals to achieve. If this is what makes you feel motivated, then go for it. yes, there will be peers younger than you and I (I'm also in my early 20's too, slightly older though )entering the nursing program in the future but that doesn't matter too much. as long as students help one another understand the material that's cool.

Anatomy is one of those courses where it's not overly difficult but it's not also a slice of cake, easy peasy kind of course. You have to study and read almost everyday. you can quiz yourself and get an anatomy app from the google store or iPhone App Store. looking at models in class is also important. don't be afraid to seek help when you're first confused since info keeps building on. Do you have a voice recorder? I think those are helpful in hearing the lecture again and making clearer notes.

Good luck in anatomy. Read, study, take a break, do quizzes on the app daily, Ask questions, you should be fine

No not at all. There is actually a rather sizable group in my BSN program so are between the ages of 25 to 30.
