we recieved $50.00 gift cards for walmart.. which surprised me because we got nothing last year...lol

$25 dollar gift card to local grocery chain from the hospital. Boss gave us each a bottle of wine 'cause he knows us VERY well. He's a good guy.

Got some candy ,4 color pen and $250 bonus.

We got a $15 "Turkey Allowance" inserted into our pay, thereby causing us to pay taxes on it.

Now that's funny.

The hospital had a holiday meal. Of course, I wasn't working that day. (But like I'm going to go in for that on a day off!)

I do work both night shifts on Christmas eve and Christmas day. We have to pay for our dinner those nights. lol. But we know how to bring in our own holiday spirit and will have a great potluck on our own. I don't mind working the holidays, at least we get holiday pay for PART of our shifts, not the full shift though! Amazing how they work that.

I get to keep working!

Alberta Health Services axed the free Christmas and New Years Day meals due to "buget issues".

My union is bringing us "treats" on the day.

Yeah. I got a gift alright. Only, at my hospital, they started the gift of giving in October. I get canceled an average of 1.5 out of three shifts per week. Other than that - NADA - NOTHING - ZILCH!

Last year when I worked Christmas eve, we got pizzas delivered for dinner by the management.

For Christmas day a lot of the workers brought it chocolates and biscuits so we were snacking all day !

We also got a thermos travel mug with our Nursing Homes name on it from the owners.
