  1. It was accurate for me. I took the test on August 20. When I arrived home (30 minutes later) I got the "good pop-up" on PearsonVue website. 48 hours later, it was confirmed...I passed. :) Go ahead and reward yourself - CELEBRATE!!!
  2. I would be interested. I am looking at testing somewhere between mid-June and the first week of July.
  3. 165 days!
  4. i would definitely agree with the other posts...shoes! last semester i bought a pair of shoes for clinicals because they were cheaper than my first choice. after working a 12-hour shift in them, i quickly discovered that i should have spent the money on my first choice - which, by the way, i will be doing this week! as for a stethoscope, there are a couple of moderately priced ones out there that work pretty well. if you look on ebay, you can get a grx cd-29 (advance cardiology stethoscope) which i paid less than $40 in january. another good option is the maxiscope, which is also around $40 on amazon.com. both prices include the cost for shipping. here are the links: grx cd-29 http://cgi.ebay.com/cardiology-stethoscope-free-pen-light-name-tag-cd29-/310237386245?pt=lh_defaultdomain_0 maxiscope http://www.amazon.com/maxiscope-cardiology-type-tubing-pink/dp/b0034pzsf0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=utf8&s=hpc&qid=1281261894&sr=1-1
  5. amgresham: before you decide to throw in the towel, think about what was the motivating force behind your decision to pursue a career in nursing and make that your motivation to move forward and dig in. i’ve always found it helpful to ask my instructor what were my areas of weakness on an exam, make a note of them, and seek out resources (other students, tutors, websites) that could explain those concepts in terms that i could understand and practice, practice, and practice some more. when i get frustrated, i find a room in my house and i scream, yell, or do whatever makes me feel better and when i’m done, i open those books and get right back to it, because for me, failure is not an option. never give up on you! you can do it!!!
  6. "Someday that these jackasses, themselves, will be carelessly run through a cold shower like a car through a carwash by a stupid nurse or aide. Then they'll get it." :hhmth: I certainly hope so!
  7. Congrats!!!!:anpom:
  8. Thank you for your words of encouragement and congratulations on your accomplishment(s)!
  9. MsAshley, This is how I studied for the HESI A2 exam (please refer to my other post): https://allnurses.com/pre-nursing-student/hesi-a2-exam-422828.html#post3929617. This worked really well for me (though it was a bit of overkill). Additionally, don't be too concerned about the time allotted for the exam. You are given something like six hours and you have as much time as you need to take each exam. So, as long as you complete the entire exam within the specified timeframe, you're golden! Good luck and let us know how you do on the exam!
  10. I sort of looked at the rental thing but never to seriously. What would be the benefit of renting a textbook when you are in a nursing program? I thought that most people hang on to their nursing textbooks until after graduation. The only benefit that I could see with this is if you can't really spare the initial outlay of cash. Just curious.
  11. I thought Rio's online nursing program was being placed on moratorium effective June 2010? See link: http://www.riosalado.edu/programs/nursing/Pages/default.aspx How will this affect those of you still on the waitlist?
  12. I am right there with you on that one! To "claim it" is the best way to stay positive and focused which helps to propel you in the desired circumstance that you have envisioned for yourself! So keep on claiming it!
  13. Yes. I made it in. The only challenge that I've encountered so far is that the letters went out on Jan 4 - was received on Jan 5 - and had to respond no later than 5 pm on Jan 6th - with orientation beginning on Jan 14th, 15th, and 20th! Talk about a maddening week! I feel like I already need a vacation and class has not even started yet! LOL I don't know what your points are with your combined GPA and HESI A2 exam, but I managed somewhere between a 7.3 and 7.4. So, if you've got something close, your acceptance should be a shoo-in! Are you planning on taking any additional classes? I would have taken nutrition last semester but I needed a little downtime.
  14. I am sorry that I did not catch this post BEFORE your exam. But it looks like you did really well (from your other posting)! Congrats to you!
