Arizona Renewal RN License
Hi, Can someone please the RN renewal process to me for the state of Arizona. From the AZ Board of Nursing I have learned and been told the following: To renew your RN license one must meet the following requirements within 5 years... 1. work 960 hours. 2. obtain a higher nursing degree. 3. taken a RN refresher course. Here is my situation: I graduated in December 2012 and obtained my RN license in January 2012. My RN license expires in April 2016. I worked briefly after obtaining my RN license, but was let go when the census (skilled nursing facility) dropped, so I was let go. I only have about 100 hours of RN nursing. Because of my father's recent death (I have to travel back to handle the estate), I doubt very much that I will reach my 960 hours before April 2016. Since the above requirements state that I have to do one of the 3 items within 5 years, what happens when my license expires in April 2016? Can I still work and be able to attain the 960 hours after April 2016 (from April 2016 to December 2016) so that I can renew my license? Or must I have to take a RN refresher course after April 2016, but before December 2016 (5 years since I graduate)? I have five years to meet the requirements, but my license is only good for 4 years. That is confusing me. Can anyone please explain this to me? Thank you, Lori

How to pay for nurse anesthetist school (CRNA)?
Hi: I would like to go to anesthetist school once I am finished with my RN and BSN. However, the cost for these programs is expensive (about $25,000 per year). Does anyone know of any types of grants, scholarships, etc. that would pay for nurse anesthetist school tuition? I do not know where to start looking for assistance. I am married with children and will be in my 40s when I am ready for nurse anesthetist school. My husband and I cannot afford the entire tuition on our own. Any suggestions are welcome. I appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thank you, Lori

Rio Salado Online Nursing Program
hello: i have been on the waiting list for one year this october. if there is anyone who has gone through rio's online nursing program (blocks 1 thru 4), can you please shed some light on the program for me? are the classes "over-loaded", meaning does rio require more than other 9 nursing mcc programs? can you please describe the clinicals, times, days, etc? and how does the program work with regards to teaching you about lab work, such as drawing blood? do you read about it first, then learn the "physical" work at a clinical setting? or do you do this type of learning at a lab? what do you think about your experience at rio? was it a good learning experience? sorry about all the questions, but i am seriously considering selecting rio as one of my choices and possibly my first choice. this october, i will have been on the wait list for one year. and i have taken all my prerequisites through rio, therefore i am familiar with their program. thank you so much...i really appreciate it.

Hello: I have been on the waiting list for one year this October. ASU BSN "critical track" course questions..
Hello: I know that Human Pathophysiology, Human Fevelopment and Nutrition have all been incorporated into the RN program at Maricopa Community Colleges. After I complete my RN at one of the Maricopa Community Colleges, I want to go to ASU for my BSN. Does anyone know if ASU accepts the aforementioned three classes being incorporated into the RN program for their BSN program or does ASU require that students take those three classes for the BSN program? I have heard both. Thank you

MCC RN to ASU BSN
Thank you so much for the information and the link. The link had a lot of very useful information and answered all my questions. After I read the link, I looked at some other posts. Some people said that although Human Development, Nutrition and Human Pathophysiology had been incorporated into the MCC RN program, you would still need to take these classes for the ASU RN to BSN program. Does anyone know if this is true? Thank you - I appreciate it.

MCC RN to ASU BSN
Hello: Can someone please help me regarding the prerequisites for the ASU BSN program from the MCC RN program? I am currently on the waiting list for the MCC RN program. All of my prerequisites are finished. After my RN, I would like to continue on and get my BSN at ASU. On the ASU BSN webpage, the following classes are listed as prerequisites: Human Development Clinical Healthcare Ethics Healthare Organizations Culture and Health Human Pathophysiology Nutrition Principles of Sound Reasoning Through MCC, I can find Human Development, Human Pathophysiology and Nutrition, but not the others. Do I need to take all the aforementioned classes to be able to "get in" the ASU BSN program, once I have gotten my RN? Or do I need the three (Human Development, Human Pathophysiology and Nutrition) that are offered at MCC? I do not know what I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

ASU's RN-BSN Program...
Hello: How did you like Statistics at RIO? I am taking it right now and am really worrying about the midterm. I was told the midterm is nothing like the homework and chapter problems. Do you have any thoughts on the class? Thank you

Nutrition 241 online at mcc
Thank you for the insight. I agree, the anatomy courses at RIO were pretty intensive and like you, I also am not looking for the "easy way out," but I don't want to get bogged down by essay after essay after essay. Plus, I work, have two daughters and am currently taking a math class, which keeps me very busy. But I want to take FON 241 for the same reasons as you do and am looking to learn, but not be drowned by senseless work.

Rio Salado Nutrition course - FON 241
Thank you for your reply...I was hoping it would not be so writing intensive. Perhaps MCC would be lighter work, but then they are all Maricopa Colleges, therefore the programs may all be the same. Thanks again
