Get this.We got 50$ gift cards to Walmart also, then everyone noticed 50$ was taken out of our check on their paystub.Well what they did was tax us on the 50$ giftcards!! They pulled the 50$ out then put it back in but it was taxed. Can never get anything for free anymore:stone

Son of a gun! Just how pathetic but, oh, SO funny is that??? :lol2:

$30 bonus but nothing else...

Specializes in Ortho/Peds/MedSURG/LTC.

unexpected..$25.00 bonus check, is better than a turkey, separately deposited into my checking account!! and a 8 hour shift..(which is crazy so much crammed into so little time). We play secret santa amoung ourselves..my gifts were perfect!! chocolate, santa socks and a crafty 3 ..folding out painting ..panel ..thing..with snowmen painted on it. :yeah:

Well I guess I have to give my hospital kudos compared to everyone else! I work as an aide there and I got a free turkey. Employees that worked over 700 hours by November also got a bonus of approx. $700 (exact amount was based on your yearly review), that is before taxes of course. It was a surprise cuz they had spent all year saying no bonuses and no raises...

Specializes in Hospice, corrections, psychiatry, rehab, LTC.

The gift that keeps on giving: An unpaid furlough day on Christmas Eve.

We got nothing. Same as every other year. One of the surgeons asked one of the nurses on my floor if she was expecting a nice bonus this year and she just about died laughing. He felt bad and bought lunch for the nurses on our floor.

Actually, I've never had a job where management gave anything to the employees. When I was in nursing school, I worked in a large pediatrician's office. 8 docs, 2 CRNP's. The office manager collected $10 from each of the employees to buy Christmas gifts for the docs. The 8 doctors repaid us by all pitching in to buy the office staff a poinsettia plant. Not 1 for each of us - 1 for the office. Our poor office manager was so humiliated by their gift (or lack thereof) that she never asked us to pitch in again for Christmas gifts.

1% one time bonus back in October from the union. 1/2 day in the offices 24th, 25 off, new years eve 1/2 day and New years day off.

That's how my mom's old job used to hand out "bonuses and gift cards" they'd take the FULL amount of the gift card from her check....mind you FULL-.. Now she WON these things by having good stats and being in compliance... if she wanted a measly $5 Walmart gift card I think she would have just gone and bought it herself... some places of employment are SUCH a joke.

Specializes in CTICU.

Got holiday lunch which was actually decent, and usually gift card from our surgeon (although I'm on vacation so no idea).

Specializes in PACU.

ha ha ha . . that makes me laugh! We dont even get a "good job" or any acknowledgement . . . much less a bonus, gift card or anything. In fact my gift this year is to work christmas eve and christmas day bec obviously i am not one of the boss' favorites! Even though they say, if you work christmas day, you wont have to work the eve . . funny, several of us are doing both, and several are doing neither! Merry Christmas!

$25 gift card to local grocery store.

Specializes in Hospice, LTC, Rehab, Home Health.

We got a per employee stipend for a facility party and our doctors took us out to a nice restaurant for dinner again this year. We could order anything off the menu including drinks, appetizers, and dessert. No price restrictions! It was very nice. They do the same for nurses' week also every year.
