Things seem to be unfolding rather quickly. Former White House aides and advisors are scrambling to cover themselves as they receive subpoenas to appear and produce documents.

It’s rare when lawyers — as opposed to their clients — take the Fifth Amendment. But Jeffrey Clark, the former Justice Department lawyer who reportedly tried to help Donald Trump overturn the 2020 presidential election, is now claiming the privilege against self-incrimination to avoid testifying before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. He has just been joined in that posture by one of Trump’s main outside legal advisers, John Eastman.

The lawsuit comes after the committee signaled it would pursue a criminal contempt referral against Meadows because of his refusal to sit for a deposition in the investigation into the Capitol riot. Meadows alleges that the subpoenas are "overly broad and unduly burdensome," while claiming that the committee "lacks lawful authority to seek and to obtain" the information requested.
And apparently Mark Meadows had a power point outlining how to overturn election results.

The 38-page presentation, entitled "Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 Jan," is dated one day before the Capitol riot. It's believed to have been submitted by Meadows after he was subpoenaed by the panel in connection with the insurrection.

Correspondence with Pelosi's office hasn't been release yet, nor have 1000s of hours of capitol security footage, either. Stop repeating lies, you are being lied to for nefarious reasons. The sudden change in lifestyle since this new administration took over is no accident, it's a designed collapse of the American economy and Trump stood in the way of global interests.
Again with the spin.
Why was that angry mob there? Why were they angry? Why were they at the capitol building? What was there objective?
Yet here you are deflecting to Pelosi...

The "insurrection" was planned and orchestrated to coopt a legitimate protest over election integrity and was turned violent by agent provocateurs to prevent Trump from ever running again for president since the impeachment didn't stick the first time...yet nothing was found incriminating Trump, but we're still having "hearings" on January 6th? Why did Pelosi and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser refuse 20,000 National Guard troops that were approved by Trump? Here's mayor Bowser's tweet just a day before Jan 6th:
It's almost like Democrats wanted something to happen on Jan 6th so they could point their finger to it and say "see? we finally proved Trump is evil!" Give me a freaking break.
Wow. What a ridiculously convoluted argument. You have been listening to some deep doodoo. The Democats are not capable of executing anything much in a coordinated fashion. This is real Spy vs. Spy comic book fantasy.

Absolutely true. Just parenthetically, I never really believed there was "collusion" between the Trump campaign and Russia before the election, simply because as a group they were too inept and undisciplined to either comprehend their role or keep their mouths shut ahead of time. They were undoubtedly willing, just not capable.
I saw incidents such as Michael Flynn lying to VP Pence about whether or not he had ever spoken to then Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak prior to election day as evidence of the corruption that was threaded throughout every action of Trump and his obedient footsoldiers before, during and after the 2016 election.
Ex-Trump adviser says former President was told "in pretty blunt terms that he was going to lose"
Four officials including Attorney General Bill Barr, Trump campaign spokesperson Jason Miller, the Trump campaign’s general counsel Matt Morgan, and another Trump campaign lawyer Alex Cannon told Trump he was losing.
“I was in the Oval Office,” Miller said in his deposition, a clip of which was played at Thursday’s hearing. “At some point in the conversation, Matt Oczkowski, who was the lead data person, was brought on, and I remember he delivered to the President in pretty blunt terms that he was going to lose.”

The House select committee played a clip of recorded testimony from ex-Trump adviser Jason Miller stating that then-President Donald Trump was told by the campaign's lead data aide "in pretty blunt terms that he was going to lose."
A former senior adviser to Trump, Miller was involved in the former President's 2016 and 2020 White House bids.
CNN previously reported that, days after the election, his campaign's top data adviser told Trump in "blunt terms" that he was headed towards defeat, according to an account Miller gave the committee, which was disclosed in deposition excerpts filed with the court.
Miller himself gave Trump his opinion — in "several" conversations — that "specific to election day fraud and irregularities, there were not enough to overturn the election," according to his account to the committee.
Ivanka Trump testified she accepted there was no fraud sufficient to overturn election
Quote
In the clip, Ivanka Trump comments on then-Attorney General Bill Barr's statement that the Justice Department found no sufficient evidence to overturn the election.
Question: "How did that affect your perception about the election when Attorney General Barr made that statement?"
Ivanka Trump: "It affected my perspective. I respect Attorney General Barr so I accepted what he was saying."Ivanka Trump’s testimony that she accepted Barr’s statement stands in stark contrast to her father who continues to falsely insist the 2020 election was stolen and sought to use unfounded claims of widespread election fraud to overturn Joe Biden’s legitimate electoral victory.

Timeline of January 6th broadcast during tonights hearing clearly showed Proud Boys and Oath Keeper skipping rally and descending on Capital building in military fashion -- with Trump later issuing call to go to the Capital allowing mob to descend and enter areas they had broken into.
General Milley clearly testified that PENCE gave clear orders to call out the National Guard to stop Capital violence, not Trump.

If this was such a manufactured drama by Democrats, why did a Republican led senate committee call the numerous contacts between members of the Trump campaign and administration a "grave threat" to the United States?
again, Trump was already impeached for Jan 6th and nothing came about, so either you're being a conspiracy theorist, or you're claiming the investigators were incompetent. and why was the impeachment suddenly dropped against Trump? oh yeah, because Nancy Pelosi turned down 20,000 national guard troops after Trump gave the approval...and you're wrong, it is up to the speaker of the house to handle security at the capital--she is 3rd in line behind the VP, after all.

"News reports indicate that in the days before the attack, House sergeant-at-arms Paul Irving resisted calls from the Capitol Police to bring in the National Guard for extra security at the Capitol because of “optics.” Irving later testified that intelligence reports didn’t show the need for the extra security, not that he rejected it because of optics."
"Capitol security is not solely the responsibility of the House speaker. It is provided by the sergeants-at-arms of the House and Senate, and by the Capitol Police."
"The House sergeant-at-arms reports to the House speaker, or Pelosi at the time of the attack."

you trust what Milley has to say? the same guy who's selling out the country for Chinese special interests. besides, have you ever heard of agent provocateurs? you all are falling for communist propaganda..,it's no surprise given that you all believe the Russia hoax.

Capitol riot an ‘attempted coup,’ prime-time hearing told
QuoteThe chairman of the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection and Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election declared at Thursday’s prime-time hearing that the attack was an “attempted coup” that put “two and half centuries of constitutional democracy at risk.”
Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said “the world is watching” the U.S. response to the panel’s yearlong investigation into the Capitol riot and the defeated president’s extraordinary effort to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s election victory. He called it a “brazen attempt” to overturn the election.
“Democracy remains in danger,” Thompson said. “We must confront the truth with candor, resolve and determination.”
The committee presented never-before-seen 12 minutes of video of the deadly violence that day and also of Trump administration officials in the chilling backstory as the defeated president, tried to overturn Biden’s election victory....
Very clear tonight: Trump did nothing to protect the Capitol while it was under attack.
Further committee hearings will present timeline of police knowledge of potential for violence, Capital Police preparation for Jan 6th event, DC Police and National Guard notification and any attempts to prevent Guard being called out.
Capital Police Office Edwards gave her testimony of being attacked (video shown) and hand to hand combat she and police colleagues experienced for HOURS and that police are not trained for such combat.
Quote“What I saw was just a war scene. There were officers on the ground. They were bleeding. They were throwing up. I saw friends with blood all over their faces. I was slipping in people’s blood. I was catching people as they fell. It was carnage. It was chaos.”
Liz Chaney gave a well thought out prosecuter type presentation
“President Trump summoned a violent mob,” said Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., the panel’s vice chair. “When a president fails to take the steps necessary to preserve our union — or worse, causes a constitutional crisis — we’re in a moment of maximum danger for our republic.”
She later stated "Trump was told the Capitol mob was chanting for Vice President Mike Pence to be hanged, Trump responded that maybe they were right, that he “deserves it.” Gasp heard through out hearing room post statement.
Trump didn't call Pence to check on him. Didn't call military officials. Didn't call legislative leaders. "He placed no call to any element of the US government to instruct the Capitol to be defended," Cheney said.
