Things seem to be unfolding rather quickly. Former White House aides and advisors are scrambling to cover themselves as they receive subpoenas to appear and produce documents.
It’s rare when lawyers — as opposed to their clients — take the Fifth Amendment. But Jeffrey Clark, the former Justice Department lawyer who reportedly tried to help Donald Trump overturn the 2020 presidential election, is now claiming the privilege against self-incrimination to avoid testifying before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. He has just been joined in that posture by one of Trump’s main outside legal advisers, John Eastman.
The lawsuit comes after the committee signaled it would pursue a criminal contempt referral against Meadows because of his refusal to sit for a deposition in the investigation into the Capitol riot. Meadows alleges that the subpoenas are "overly broad and unduly burdensome," while claiming that the committee "lacks lawful authority to seek and to obtain" the information requested.
And apparently Mark Meadows had a power point outlining how to overturn election results.
The 38-page presentation, entitled "Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 Jan," is dated one day before the Capitol riot. It's believed to have been submitted by Meadows after he was subpoenaed by the panel in connection with the insurrection.
Hillary may have technically conceded but her campaign, along with major media support, concocted a phony Russia collusion hoax that was designed to remove Trump from office, spied on him during his presidency, and he was illegally impeached twice yet not convicted of anything. The "insurrection" was planned and orchestrated to coopt a legitimate protest over election integrity and was turned violent by agent provocateurs to prevent Trump from ever running again for president since the impeachment didn't stick the first time...yet nothing was found incriminating Trump, but we're still having "hearings" on January 6th?
It's almost like Democrats wanted something to happen on Jan 6th so they could point their finger to it and say "see? we finally proved Trump is evil!" Give me a freaking break.

She didn't make him hire Carter Page, an advisor to the Russian government who was actively being recruited as a Russian operative. She didn't make Don Jr enthusiastically take up the offer of dirt on Democrats in exchange for giving Russia leverage in the Trump administration. She didn't make Papadopoulos, Flynn, or any of the other members of the Trump team attempt to covertly act on behalf of Russian interests. She didn't make Trump threaten to illegally withhold military aid to Ukraine with Russia on their doorstep.
If this was such a manufactured drama by Democrats, why did a Republican led senate committee call the numerous contacts between members of the Trump campaign and administration a "grave threat" to the United States?

Correspondence with Pelosi's office hasn't been release yet, nor have 1000s of hours of capitol security footage, either. Stop repeating lies, you are being lied to for nefarious reasons. Absolutely true. Just parenthetically, I never really believed there was "collusion" between the Trump campaign and Russia before the election, simply because as a group they were too inept and undisciplined to either comprehend their role or keep their mouths shut ahead of time. They were undoubtedly willing, just not capable.

again, Trump was already impeached for Jan 6th and nothing came about, so either you're being a conspiracy theorist, or you're claiming the investigators were incompetent. and why was the impeachment suddenly dropped against Trump? oh yeah, because Nancy Pelosi turned down 20,000 national guard troops after Trump gave the approval...and you're wrong, it is up to the speaker of the house to handle security at the capital--she is 3rd in line behind the VP, after all.

The chairman of the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection and Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election declared at Thursday’s prime-time hearing that the attack was an “attempted coup” that put “two and half centuries of constitutional democracy at risk.”
Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said “the world is watching” the U.S. response to the panel’s yearlong investigation into the Capitol riot and the defeated president’s extraordinary effort to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s election victory. He called it a “brazen attempt” to overturn the election.
“Democracy remains in danger,” Thompson said. “We must confront the truth with candor, resolve and determination.”

Capital Police Office Edwards gave her testimony of being attacked (video shown) and hand to hand combat she and police colleagues experienced for HOURS and that police are not trained for such combat.

Trump didn't call Pence to check on him. Didn't call military officials. Didn't call legislative leaders. "He placed no call to any element of the US government to instruct the Capitol to be defended," Cheney said.
