Hello my fellow school nurses!
Friday is the last day of school for us, and I'm so excited. It is kind of weird in a way since I started working here in March, and now I'm almost on vacation :)
I'm hoping to educate myself on some topics I've seen come up in the last months during the summer so I can be a bit better prepared next year, (I have a fear of having an emergency happen and not knowing what to do since I am still a very new nurse!), traveling a little (no kiddos yet!), and working PRN at another facility to keep up my clinical skills.
What are your plans?:)
My in-laws are taking the whole family to the beach in July, including my sister-in-law that lives in another state. I am so excited for my babies to see the ocean.
Growing up I went to the beach twice a year starting at age three, I haven't been since I was pregnant with my first so I can't wait!!!!!
On another note, I am a tad worried about keeping my red-heads SPF'd up enough. Also, my face gets very rashy/itchy when exposed to SPF lately??? So that should be fun.
My summer has already started!! I plan to pick up a few shifts at Home Health for a little spending money, but mostly doing the usual deep clean/organize the house, camping trips, swimming lessons, baseball, couple short vacations, fairs, and general family fun time! I have been out of school 2 days and Its been like Heaven having the daylight wake me up instead of an alarm.

And where is Hammy?
I'll be sleeping in, drinking cup after cup of hazelnut coffee, taking my kids to the park and pool, relaxing, watching "Dance Moms" on Roku, and if I'm brave enough, I want to try a barre workout class! I'm thrilled not to be working this summer and will be spending quality time with my 3 kids! And since I won't be exhausted from working nights and overtime, I might even get some housework done! And a trip to my beautiful home state, Michigan, is in the plans as well!

My rashy nephew does great with Aveeno Baby high SPF stuff, and my rashy self does, too. Might be worth a shot.

BUCKET LIST.
Went on my first backpacking trip last summer and now am hooked. After Watching the Netflix movie "Mile, mile and a Half" last summer I decided that someday I will do the John Muir Trail - so taking baby steps with this HSC trip - we are lucky to get to stay & dine at 3 of the camps - the others we will just tent camp and cook our own food. I just hope I have the stamina to do it :)

I started prepping for backpacking a few years ago, but I was going to go with my brother and his wife, and they decided to start having kids instead. How rude I'm most likely to end up on the AT, as the Appalachians are one of my two Happy Places, and closer to home.
Mile, Mile and a Half is unavailable to stream *runs off to look for a rental website*

A little hard found tip: Clean your axilla by bending the affected side while dangling your arm perpendicular to the floor, this allows enough space to clean and do it twice a day. Keep a cotton shirt or tea towel in there. You will have a rash, but those things will make it better. Enjoy Ireland.
