For those of you just tuning in, please allow me to bring you up to speed:
I was terminated from Wrongway after 17 years two weeks and two days, am considering retirement, but also considering semi-retirement, working part time.
On Sunday I applied online for a position 7 1/2 miles from my rural home at a LTC facility, and on Monday I was offered a position.
I figure working eight 8 hour shifts per month will pay the bills without me having to deplete other financial reserves.
So begins a tentative nursing future with...
Once again, thank you all for the empathy, kind words, and support.
I broke a cardinal rule of mine and that was to allow myself to emotionally blurt out, online, any news of personal paramount importance. I have other tried and true methods of dealing with my feelings than to show them to the world, and that's what I've been doing these past few days.
However, it is very nice to know my virtual friends can relate and are there for me, but I would prefer for my position here on allnurses be one of nursing kindredship.
With that said... "And now: Back to our program!"
