HI. I hate the floor i have clinicals on. I hate waking up at 5am. I really hate that i cant finish my hw tonight bc i have to wake up at 5am. i dislike that i have to go to bed and not finish watching golden girls. hmpf.

I hated nursing school and I hated our ugly scrubs.

So, I burned my scrubs. I let my two kids each toss a piece into the bonfire...

And before those hideous scrubs actually burned... they sorta... melted :eek:.

That was quality fabric, folks!

This is so funny. I was a waitress for many years, while in school, and through my "transitional" life phases. I remember when I got a better job my fellow waitresses and I went out and celebrated, then we stood in a circle in front of the restaurant and I burned my apron.

It let out the odor of years worth of old food and spills, and then melted into the sidewalk. The residual mess was there for weeks after, it kind of melded with the cement. I still have a little piece that I saved.

5 AM! God isn't even up at 5 AM. That's when I go to sleep. I worked Day Shift one year out of my 40 in this business. But I could get up at 6 and walk to work.

I hate ATI, I hate my clinical instructor, I hate waking up at 4am and my kids asking why I'm leaving our house in the middle of the night cause its pitch black out. I hate studying every free minute and missing out on so much. I hate my all white uniform. I hate that my instructors can tell us they'll have our test grades by a certain day or time and then its days later checking and checking. I especially hate assignments that have no point but almost just seem like busy work. I hate just being under teh stress that I am. I especially hate that my OB clinical is over and I don't know when I'll ge to work in that area again.

I hate waking up at 4:30 for clinicals with the worst instructor possible. I hate being constatnly berated for personality and looks rather than on my nursing care. I hate all the drama and pettyness of nursing school... it without a doubt is WORSE than high school. I hate studying all the time for tests which are based on the instructors opinion, not what the books say. I hate stupid assignments. I hate having no money.

when i was teaching, i was sitting in my living room one saturday afternoon reviewing care plans and journals. fourteen students in two sections, at least 45-60 minutes per care plan, you do the arithmetic.

my 8-year-old wandered in. "whatcha doing, mom?"

"oh, just doing my homework for school."

::shocked:: "you have weekend homework???"

i hated that.

i agree with you on the waking up at 5am thing. i hate it. i cant wait til i graduate and get myself a nice night shift or evening shift job and never have to wake up that early again. hmf.

also i hate my uniform and i cant wait to burn it.

let me at that i have never had a problem on clinical until this passive agressive cockamamie instructor i have now has unfairly singled out my partner and i and total peeved us off. >.

LOL! This thread is too funny. I am not in nursing school yet (waiting on my letter). I want to keep up with this thread because I am pretty sure I will have some complaints. I have 7yr old, 2yr old, and 4wk old boys.

The irony of nursing school is that we're about health promotion, but to hell with our own health: our sleep, our eating, our physical activity, our stress relief! We're all about taking care of other people's families, and never get to see our own. Nursing school is the perfect breeding ground for future martyrs.

This is so true and it continues into your nursing career. 12 hour shifts, no time to eat meals, barely time to pee, missing out on holidays and weekends with our families...it goes on and on. Nursing is definitely not for the faint of heart.

And I was one of those nursing students who actually burnt her awful scrubs after grad. And promptly sold all my textbooks for twice as much on half.com as I would at the bookstore.
