  1. I think that with this question something is missing. For a short term outcome the client will be able to verbalize feelings of guilt, anger, self-blame, hopelessness associated with the trauma. A client with ptsd will have survivor's guilt. So they need to verbalize these feeling and know that they are not to blame for what happened.
  2. HaHaa!! I love this. Someone should hire you. You are so straight forward. No sugar over there lol!!
  3. Okay. Thank you. I finally figured out how to do it. I feel so crazy. I made this harder than what it was. I got the 52.4 like you because the 1 gram IV instructions = 125mg/ml plus the 50 ml.
  4. Further dilute should be 50ml not 10ml.
  5. Yes this is the exact problem. I got the 6.3 but I added 50ml because the problem said to further dilute it with 50 ml. I'm sorry the 10ml should be 50ml. I will edit it.
  6. This is a dosage calculation problem that I am trying to figure out how to work out.
  7. I struggle so much with reconstitution, so can someone help me with this problem and give me tips or other examples that will help me please. Order: Drug 300mg IV q 12 hr On Hand: Drug 1g vials Directions for reconstitution: For IM injection or IV infusion, reconstitute according to the following table. For IV administration, each dose must be further diluted with 10 ml of 0.9% NaCl. Total volume of each dose of your infusion is _______. Vial -Diluent to be added -Appox. average concentration IM 1g -2.2ml -500mg/ml IV Infusion 500mg -10ml -48mg/ml 1g -10ml -125mg/ml This is what I did to get 56.3ml ml= 1ml/48mg x 300mg/1dose =300/48 = 6.25 = 6.3ml 6.3ml+50ml= 56.3ml
  8. What is a preceptorship?

The actual material is not the challenging part for me. It is when I get into clinical and have to take the puzzle and put it together. I got all the pieces, but it can be a little difficult to put together at times. Nursing is not black and white; instead, it is green, purple, grey, and red.
  10. I failed my first nursing test last week too. I am in my third semester. Good luck and really really make nursing school your life.
  11. At my school 74.5% in theory. Pass/fail in clinical. Pass a dosage calculation exam with a 90%. You only have 2 times to make a D and you have to wait 5 years to apply to any nursing program in the state again. So that is why I be so busy trying to make sure that I am doing the best job that I can do in order to be a successful nurse. I really don't have time to worry about what other students are doing.
  12. I haven't graduated yet, but I will try to answer any of your questions if I can.
  13. What do you do to prepare for clinical each time?
  14. Thank you all for your comments. Of course I had to shed a few tears because nursing school can really break your spirit and make a person feel very incompetent at times. I am going to suck this one up and work even harder to make it.
