PTSD nclex question
I think that with this question something is missing. For a short term outcome the client will be able to verbalize feelings of guilt, anger, self-blame, hopelessness associated with the trauma. A client with ptsd will have survivor's guilt. So they need to verbalize these feeling and know that they are not to blame for what happened.

Reconstitution Help!!!!!

Reconstitution Help!!!!!
Further dilute should be 50ml not 10ml.

Reconstitution Help!!!!!
Yes this is the exact problem. I got the 6.3 but I added 50ml because the problem said to further dilute it with 50 ml. I'm sorry the 10ml should be 50ml. I will edit it.

Reconstitution Help!!!!!
I struggle so much with reconstitution, so can someone help me with this problem and give me tips or other examples that will help me please. Order: Drug 300mg IV q 12 hr On Hand: Drug 1g vials Directions for reconstitution: For IM injection or IV infusion, reconstitute according to the following table. For IV administration, each dose must be further diluted with 10 ml of 0.9% NaCl. Total volume of each dose of your infusion is _______. Vial -Diluent to be added -Appox. average concentration IM 1g -2.2ml -500mg/ml IV Infusion 500mg -10ml -48mg/ml 1g -10ml -125mg/ml This is what I did to get 56.3ml ml= 1ml/48mg x 300mg/1dose =300/48 = 6.25 = 6.3ml 6.3ml+50ml= 56.3ml

Calling graduating class of 2014!
What is a preceptorship?
-
Easy?
The actual material is not the challenging part for me. It is when I get into clinical and have to take the puzzle and put it together. I got all the pieces, but it can be a little difficult to put together at times. Nursing is not black and white; instead, it is green, purple, grey, and red.

Failed very first nursing text :(
I failed my first nursing test last week too. I am in my third semester. Good luck and really really make nursing school your life.
-
Failing....? Your school's policy?
At my school 74.5% in theory. Pass/fail in clinical. Pass a dosage calculation exam with a 90%. You only have 2 times to make a D and you have to wait 5 years to apply to any nursing program in the state again. So that is why I be so busy trying to make sure that I am doing the best job that I can do in order to be a successful nurse. I really don't have time to worry about what other students are doing.

Accepted!
I haven't graduated yet, but I will try to answer any of your questions if I can.

What do you do to prepare for clinical each time?

Failed 1st nursing exam-Has anyone had the same experience?
- Failed 1st nursing exam-Has anyone had the same experience?
Thank you all for your comments. Of course I had to shed a few tears because nursing school can really break your spirit and make a person feel very incompetent at times. I am going to suck this one up and work even harder to make it.- Nervous in clinicals
I still have anxiety. Even more now that I am going into peds.- Failed 1st nursing exam-Has anyone had the same experience?
I am in my third semester of nursing school and I failed my first nursing exam. I made a 72 on my first patho exam. I studied all week long, but I still failed that is why I am so upset. If I didn't study then I would be okay with not passing. *sigh* About 80-85 percent of the class failed. Has anyone been through this before?- Help! Ready to quit nursing school
If nursing is really what you want to do then don't quit. If you don't feel that it is worth all of the blood, sweat, and tears then quit. I work part-time, have 3 kids, no money, my fiance be mad at me because we don't have s*x like we use to, and did I say no money. My first semester of nursing school I cried almost every week because I didn't feel like I was understanding what the hell I was doing. I was tired and snappy. I didn't feel like I had a life, no money, and my house was a mess. I have not had acne since 2007, but now I have acne again. Do I want to quit? No because this is where my heart is at, I don't see myself doing anything else, and the reward in the end make it all worth it. I am now going into my third semester of nursing school, which is going to be even more hectic. I will also be moving in November during this semester.- What To Expect in Maternal Child and Pathology?
Hey everyone I have not been on here in a while because I have been busy with my classes. In about 2 weeks I will be going into my third semester of nursing school, maternal child and pathology. What can I expect to be doing this semester? What type of advice do anyone have for me? You can also tell me about any of your experiences during the semester.Thanks!!- Failed two classes in 3rd semester. Seeking advice.
I don't know where you are located, but here in TN if you make a D or below in two nursing courses you can not apply for any nursing program ever. If you do apply for the nursing program at a private college, you still have to have a letter of good standing from the previous nursing school. So if you have failed the program they will not give you a letter. So at least you are able to appeal. Good luck.- Single Mom, Full Time Pre-Nursing student in TN
1.) Cut back on everything that you can. 2.) Apply for financial aid and scholarships at your school. 3.) Apply for government assistance if you need to. -I personally feel that there is nothing wrong with have assistance from the government if you are trying to better yourself in the end. It is temporary. I have 3 children and I am currently going into my third semester of nursing school. I struggle a little financially, but they told us that we can deal with anything for two years. At the end of the day it is all about how bad you want it, what are you willing to do for it, and what are you willing to sacrifice for it.- Pharmacology For the Summer
Okay so I am starting pharmacology in a couple of week. It is a 5 week summer session. Can anyone tell me what to expect, study tips, or any advice? Thanks for being so helpful my fellow nursing student comrades.- Help so down and out...
So how did everything go?- Starting pay question?
As hard as nursing school is and everything that RNs have to do I would not work anywhere for 15-16 dollars an hour. If that is the case I might as well cut my losses now and go back to the factory lol.- I Didn't Get Into The Nursing Program...now what??
Keep trying to get into the program if this is what you truly want to do. Just take some general educations classes while waiting. I would even take some classes that would go towards a Master's Degree if you are done taking classes for the Bacherlors. - Failed 1st nursing exam-Has anyone had the same experience?
