Hey everyone!!
If you could go back and choose a specialty or dream job (if you're not in it already), what would it be? For example, if you knew what you know now about nursing, would you still have chosen to be a nurse or another career? I would want to go back and become a pharmacist...

I'd have to say physician. I love all things medical and I like to be in charge and the lack of authority and frustration when I can't provide what the patient needs because some doctor has a stick up their bt bothers me. If I had to start now, no way. Have kids and a hubby and no longer am willing to sacrifice the time required. But if I was, say, back in high school again, single and childless, I'd pick that route.

"Otherwise, Supreme Court Justice, Ruler of the World, anything where I can get paid to travel the world."
you can aways become a traveling nurse.... A nurse will always be a nurse.... you can't be pulled into a different calling.... This is a lifestyle that I appreciate your dedication to...
This question is directed to professional nurses.
I doubt that you said this to diminish the role of CNAs in healthcare. One thing I've noticed, at my place of work at least, is that many CNAs hold very romanticized views of what being a nurse is actually like. Some of them seem to think that the job is a lot easier than it is, and that getting a job in their dream specialty will be a snap.
