Hey everyone!!
If you could go back and choose a specialty or dream job (if you're not in it already), what would it be? For example, if you knew what you know now about nursing, would you still have chosen to be a nurse or another career? I would want to go back and become a pharmacist...
God is within her, she will not fail.- Psalms 46:5
I'm confused: Been there, done that, are you saying that duskyjewel can't choose "prosecutor"? Or that s/he is not a nurse? I wanted to be an FBI "profiler" before there was even a name for them, and was in college to become a forensics clinical psychologist... I would not put myself through what I would have never been able to forget, and which would have prematurely aged and depressed me....but I would not have been a nurse, either, for the same 2 reasons. Thankfully I am going to find a spot in nursing that will preserve the good parts of it--which are many, and treasured--and fewer of the bad.
Please... did you have to use Cheerios? They're my favorite!!! I'' never look at them the same way at breakfast. And I'm a CNA working toward becoming one. Who peed in your Cheerios?
I'd like to have been a pharmacist - should have done it when I was thinking about it mid-way in my career.
Of course, I always wanted to be elected queen of the universe, too.
I've never regretted my decision to be a nurse. Writing "RN" behind my name is what I dreamed of for years, now I can do just that! Specifically, I was always interested in mental health nursing, and I have a job that I really enjoy. I always feel bad for people who hate going to work...that's so sad. I have a job that I like and financial security. Three cheers for the nursing profession!

I'm a new nurse, but I'd still be a nurse. I'd have done it a whole lot earlier in life though.
