Am I the only one that feels like Allnurses.com is like a Facebook for nurses and nursing students? lol I've become slightly obsessed with it, I have the app and everything.. I get excited when I see new topics posted and reading all the comments and different point of views. I don't start my nursing program until January, but I already feel as if I've learned so much from this site alone! Maybe I'm just an ultra-nerd, but OH WELL! Thought I'd share. lol

Small suggestion: If that is really your photograph, consider replacing it with something else :) There may well come a time when something you post is recognized by someone in your program, or faculty, or clinical, and you could be sorry when you discover they know who wrote it.

I agree. This site has been a source of support, information, learning & comradery since I found it. And now that I'm in nursing school, its been helpful connecting with other students going through the same thing :D Good luck as you begin your journey in January!

I love this site too. I have learned so much from other nurses and nursing students.

I'm always reading all the posts:) I also start nursing school this January and the info found here is invaluable.

Besides, when I have a question I always get answers from various users, and the different kinds of input always as well.

I also love this website! I have gotten so much good feedback if I've ever needed any advice on my dreams of becoming a nurse. I also start nursing school in January and I am beyond excited! I visit this site almost everyday just to look at new topics and I feel slightly prepared for the ride because I know a little of what to expect because of AN. :)

I also love this site. I'm almost finished with my program, and it's great to see stuff for everything from school to the NCLEX to the job climate to master's programs, and to be able to offer advice and support for people who are on their way through this path.

It's great seeing the variety of experiences people have along the way, too.

I totally agree! I had no idea that there was an app for my iphone! Thank you for sharing! I now have the app on my phone as well! I noticed this website a few months ago when I would google information during class. I decided to check it out. I become a member when I had failed my fundamentals course and was looking for some kind of emotional support to get my motivation back! Here I am today finishing up my 2nd round of fundamentals proud and strong!!!

There are so many myths and misconceptions about the nursing profession out there that I appreciate allnurses.com acting as a counterbalance. If I see one more "CLICK HERE TO SEE TOP 5 BEST PAYING JOBS THAT ARE SUPER EASY AND HOT GUYS WILL RUB YOUR FEET AND FEED YOU GRAPES" ad, I'm gonna headbutt my computer screen.

As much as people complain about the "negativity" on AN, it helped prepare me tremendously for school. I had no illusions about a glamorous Grey's Anatomy-esque environment, understood the difficult job market waiting for me on the other side, and learned to never, EVER victimize myself and roll with the punches (because it turns out that I'm not a special snowflake). It would have been an entirely different experience without the frank, matter-of-fact words of fellow nurses here.

I love it here too! bored? can't sleep? it's my 2nd home and its so reassuring. Allnurses gives me important and valuable info on the good, the bad, the ugly. I'm actually on here more than Facebook or Twitter lol
